#CarersWeek2023 7 months into my caring role having ceased work due to person needing my support. Never felt so lonely, isolated or weary in my 40 yr career. We have yet to receive PIP despite applying for it 9/1/23 and as such I am unable to claim carers allowance.

@AlzSocCampaigns Echo the statements in this report. It is a total nightmare trying to navigate the diagnosis journey -especially for under 65s. Finances are all consuming - PIP assessments/awards take up to 5 months yet Carers allowance can only be backdated for 3 months.

1 in 3 of us will develop dementia in our lifetime, yet currently over 300,000 people across England, Wales and Northern Ireland are living in the dark about their diagnosis. They aren't able to access the vital care and support they deserve.
