@iSpeedtest0S Man I’m a huge apple proponent but this is kinda indefensible. Ads were run showcasing siri with context awareness, ability to tap into app intents- major messaging was Siri (powered by apple intelligence). And it will now be more than a year- from iOS 18.1 to at least iOS 27!

@amanjoshi_js Nonsense. First of all, the 16 series will get all of these features announced in 2024. Second, who bought a phone because of some promised Siri update for "within the next year"? Third, ads were about Apple Intelligence in general. Apple delivered everything aside from Siri.

No Siri 2.0 features and its the last key update before WWDC- to think a feature demoed in June 2024 isn’t going to ship till September 2026 at least- Apple really needs to compensate the buyers of 16 series man- they really got played.

@mweinbach @zollotech That’s 3 very critical features though- I’m sure when it comes out it will be great- but clarity on timeline would have been appreciated- 2 year delay on promised features- esp Apple is a big no-no! Their core principles for consumer AI are great, execution for now- not so much.

@amanjoshi_js @zollotech Siri got the overhaul. There are 3 features as part of that you didn’t get. Memory, app intents, and on screen context. The rest you got.

@zollotech Have to disagree here Aaron- Siri’s overhaul was the biggest feature (and in my experience it has somehow become worse)- clearly it’s more than 5%! Even the remaining apple intelligence features are very un-apple like (Image Playground as a full fledged app- whyyyyy?)

This is one feature where I was genuinely surprised (pleasantly). Everyone knew a pill shaped notch was about to come (smaller notches already existed), but to build interactive UI component around it- is what differentiates Apple from the rest.
