Overseas Pakistanis, especially those who have been critical of Pakistan’s military regime, are strongly advised to enter Pakistan on their foreign passports with valid visas, NOT their NICOPs. Traveling as a foreign national allows easier access to consular services from their home country if issues arise. Entry to Pakistan through NICOP treats you fully as a Pakistani citizen and limits external protections.

If there is truly no restriction, then there should be no ambiguity, no delay, and no conditions attached to sons meeting their imprisoned father. Delaying visas while directing travel through a route that removes available legal protection only raises more serious questions. At a time when Imran Khan remains in prolonged solitary confinement, with family access repeatedly restricted, such actions inevitably strengthen concerns about what the government is trying to control and conceal. A meeting between a father and his children is a basic human right, not a political tool. Here is the video of the visa processing claims within hours.

First, the Govt Ministers sit on TV shows saying that Sulaiman and Kasim will be granted visas if they apply, claiming they have not applied for visas to visit Pakistan. When we provided their tracking numbers for visa applications, this man (Atta Tarar) says they should travel on their NICOP. Who is he to decide how they travel to Pakistan? Does this Govt Minister even realizes that he has made a statement which is against the law of Pakistan? The law gives every citizen the right to travel by NICOP or on valid visas.
