We call for the passage of the Lorenzo Salgado act by Congress and the Texas Legislature so this does not happen to anyone else ever again.

There are so many people at the visitation that overflow is going into the cemetery itself.

Ronaldo Salgado said he learned an ICE agent had shot his father, Mexican immigrant Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, through a video posted online that depicted him "screaming for someone to help him." His youngest brother, Lorenzo Jr. Salgado, said he learned their father had died while on an airplane on his way to Houston to try to see him. But he told CBS News' @camiloreports he was not able to say goodbye. ICE has claimed Salgado Araujo “weaponized” his van during a traffic stop in Houston on July 7, an allegation disputed by his family.

42 years ago today, I was out for a run in Houston. A tree fell on me, leaving me partially paralyzed. My parents instilled in me the values that carried me through my darkest days: hard work, perseverance, and faith in God. Our lives are not defined by our challenges, but by how we respond to them.
