Funny enough, I agree with the video. When I first got to America, my dad always called me stingy because he automatically expected me to start taking care of him and my siblings. I didn't have papers and was doing under-the-table jobs for almost 3 years. Even after getting my papers, I made sure I completed my coding school and had at least a comfy job before taking up responsibilities. I see a lot of people who, because they want to please others, would not cut back their hours to go to school or improve themselves. Most of them are still doing the same low-paying job they have had for 10 years. But some of us have scaled because we made sure of it, even at the expense of hurting some of our loved ones.
