Shocking VC Behaviour by @SashaKaletsky of creator.ventures. You don’t rise up by tearing another person down. Yesterday, I was disappointed to see a tweet (from someone I’ve never met, let alone had “help” from) tearing down my business. They shared (completely false) financials, which would be considered leaking confidential information. (If he’d bothered to get them right 😅) & implied I sold my business on a flawed revenue stream. As a VC, I assumed he would have a better knowledge of the stringent due diligence requirements pre-sale. I just learned about "Petflix" & was shocked that this exists & how much money it makes. Forget selling widgets to humans. Pet companies have it made! They're in the business of selling stuff to beings that can't talk and owners that don't care. Here's what "Petflix" is: Two websites and YouTube channels that absolutely print cash. The YouTube channels, RelaxMyCat and RelaxMyDog have almost 1 BILLION views and 3 million subscribers combined. The 2 channels get about 550k views per day, which equates to $3k - $6k per day in ad revenue. And what are their costs? Exactly. Oh, and then on their websites they sell $5/month memberships, because who would be so cruel as to force their dog to watch ads?? This is a 7 figure/year profit business. Does the music work at relaxing the pets? Who cares and who knows! The owners just have to believe it works. I love my dog but not enough to play YouTube for him all day. Petflix might be the best business name that never (officially) was. Really kicking myself for not launching my pet food seasoning idea a decade ago. Selling to humans sucks in comparison.
