Another SNAP E&T career path is customer service. Students learn call center basics and sales training to prepare for positions in retail, customer service, call center, and hospitality industries. Participants need Workforce Essentials @AmosHouse course. Classes start on 9/4

ADVOCACY ALERT! Our state is facing a 76% cut to the homeless shelter budget which will have grave implications for Rhode Island's shelter system. Please join us for a rally at the State House on April 23rd at 3:00pm. Together we can make our voices heard!

Stop by for lunch today and get a winter coat too! Warm yourself from the inside with a lunch of a hearty bacon cheeseburger and homemade beef chili and warm yourself on the outside by grabbing a winter coat at our coat distribution event. Both run from 11:00 to 12:30. Stay warm!

The air is crisp and leaves are falling and that means - Socktober is here! We distribute thousands of socks each fall and winter, yet they are some of the least frequently donated items. There's still time to help out. Questions? Give us a call at 401-831-9866.

In September, we served 16,482 free prepared meals to the community at our Soup Kitchen site. Thank you to @UNFI for a Hunger Awareness Month partnership that covered the cost of every meal served in September. We are so fortunate to call you a part of the Amos House family!

We need diapers! Currently, 41 families live in Amos House's Family Emergency Shelter, and many of the children there are still in diapers. Can you help? Donations can be dropped off at or shipped to our main facility at 460 Pine St. Providence, 02907.
