Last weekend, I had the honour of hosting members of the Rotary Club of KampalaCare at my residence for a special pinning ceremony, a meaningful moment of fellowship and celebration. The club was officially chartered by Rotary International President Francesco Arezzo during his recent visit to Uganda.

Next on stage, we have our current District Governor, @KyeyuneKawooya, who introduced the District Governor-Elect and shared important reflections and lessons from the ongoing Rotary year. Her message reminded presidents-elect that strong leadership grows from continuity, learning from those who serve before us, and preparing intentionally for the responsibility ahead. Honoured to flag off the International Women’s Day Run organized by the Rotary Club of Mbarara. The proceeds will support equipping the Rotary Neonatal Clinic at Mbarara University Referral Hospital, helping give newborns a stronger start to life. After nearly one week stranded in the UAE due to the ongoing conflict and closure of airspace, my wife Resty, our daughter Jackline and I miraculously managed to return home safely yesterday. For that, I am deeply grateful to the authorities in UAE who cleared our arranged exit. Upon our return, I travelled straight to Western Uganda where I had the honour of presiding over the 40th Charter Celebration of the Rotary Club of Mbarara, the oldest club in the region. The day began with another special moment launching a new Rotary club at Ntare School, one of Uganda’s most prestigious institutions. This historic school counts among its alumni H.E. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni of Uganda and H.E. President Paul Kagame of Rwanda. We look forward to this institutional club beginning with at least 80 members, a powerful start for a new generation of leaders. What a meaningful way to mark a safe return home and to celebrate International Women’s Day through the continued expansion of Rotary’s impact.

At the Charter Night of the Rotary Club of Mbarara, which I had the honour to preside over, I was delighted to induct five new members into our Rotary family and commission two impactful projects , the construction of a 400-seater Rotary Multipurpose Hall and the renovation of the Rotary Children’s Peace Park. A strong reminder that Rotary continues to grow, serve, and create lasting impact in our communities. #PeopleOfAction

In a sharp and honest session led by PAG Apollo Ampumwize and Julie Kalibala (country grants chair), we confronted a truth many avoid. During my visit to RC Mbarara City, I reminded members that membership is our lifeblood. I encouraged them to grow to 18 members, rethink their meeting time for better participation, and each invite one friend to fellowship. Together we grow Rotary!
