Senator Godfrey Osotsi's account of a calculated, near-fatal attack is chilling and it is not an isolated incident. A clear pattern has emerged. Osotsi and Siaya Governor James Orengo were attacked by the same goons at Royal Swiss Hotel, Kisumu. Richard Onyonka was attacked leaving a Linda Mwananchi rally. The United Alternative Government has faced similar violence in Kakamega and Bungoma counties. This is a deliberate campaign to block leaders from accessing Nyanza and Western regions; to silence the Government-in-waiting, intimidate leaders, and deny citizens the right to engage with alternative leadership. We pray for Senator Osotsi's full recovery and stand firmly with his family at this most difficult time. To PS Raymond Omollo: you have 24 hours to resign. Political thuggery has no place in Kenya. The Word of God is clear in Exodus 20:13: "Thou shalt not kill". Our Constitution equally commands it: Articles 10, 19, 21, and 43 protect life, dignity, freedom of expression, and the rule of law. No political agenda stands above either. PS Raymond Omollo has 24 hours to resign. If he will not go on his own, his Boss must remove him, and do so swiftly, if he hopes to convince Kenyans he had no hand in this. Silence and inaction are not an option Mr Ruto.

I developed a theory during the Moi era that when you saw appointment of someone you thought brilliant and held in high regard, Moi had sniffed out something about the person that you did not know. It was either greed or vanity, more often than not, both.

The good people of Kisumu have done half the job by themselves. They have identified the goons who attacked Osotsi and their financier. The Police have this information. This inaction on the part of @PoliceKE is unacceptable.

Wandayi’s Statements Are Now Raising More Questions Than Answers So which one is true? Wandayi went public saying the Sh11.88 billion petrol consignment had been stopped, ordered out of the KPC system, barred from sale, and excluded from monthly cost calculations. He even directed that One Petroleum withdraw invoices and that oil marketers should neither pay for nor uplift the product. Now oil marketers are saying the recalled petrol cannot even be removed because it is already mixed inside KPC pipelines and cannot be traced separately. If that is true, then Kenyans are being taken for fools. You cannot tell the country the fuel will be removed from the system, then later say it is already so deeply inside the system that removal is impossible. That is not a small contradiction. That is a scandal inside the scandal. It would mean Wandayi’s statement was either premature, misleading, or knowingly impossible from the start. And if the product is already mixed in KPC pipelines, then the public is entitled to ask a very serious question... when exactly did this “recalled” fuel stop being a separate consignment and become part of the national supply chain? At that point, the issue is no longer just about fake or overpriced fuel. It becomes about whether the Cabinet Secretary was managing the public with words while the product had already moved beyond control. Wandayi’s refusal to resign is now becoming a bigger problem than the statements he keeps issuing. With top officials under and around him resigning, probes widening, and contradictions piling up over the fuel consignment, his continued stay in office only deepens public suspicion. It is no longer just about what happened in the petroleum sector, but why the political head of the docket still wants Kenyans to believe responsibility ends everywhere except at his desk. That is why pressure on Wandayi should not reduce. It should increase.

Kalonzo Musyoka: There is no reason why the individuals who attacked Osotsi have not been apprehended by now. If they will not have been apprehended by this time tomorrow, we will be on a trail to institute private prosecution against interior PS Raymond Omollo

Deeply disappointed by the lack of progress at Kisumu Central Police Station following the targeted attack on Senator Godfrey Osotsi. Despite clear images of the attackers circulating, no arrests have been made. There is evident interference from higher offices. This is not politics, it is brazen thuggery. I call on both the National Assembly and the Senate to urgently demand accountability. I will be back tomorrow to follow up on the arrests.

I doubt if the High Court has jurisdiction to stop the Senate from performing its functions. The High Court cannot bar the Senate from summoning governors to appear before the committees. Maybe bar arrests and not summons. That would be an overreach.

Just left Karen Hospital where our brother Senator Osotsi is being taken care of. He is badly injured but the doctors are taking good care of him. They say he is “stable”. I don’t know what to say in these situations honestly. It shouldn’t come to this.

The Broad Based Gang that attacked Senator Osotsi are known. They always hang around UDA leader when he is in Nyanza. They are nicknamed “Interior Goons” Even with the CCTV footage, the police will not arrest them because they are protected by and works for the Broad Cheith.
