RWENZORI MARATHON PARTNERSHIPS In the few days I have been in Canada, I have made some of the most critical contacts for Uganda I must say, athletics to be specific. Just as an example, in the picture with me is Mr. ALAN BROOKES, race director of TCS TORONTO WATERFRONT MARATHON, Basically Canada biggest marathon. Also had 2 hours with Mike organizer of OTTAWA MARATHON and agreed on working together and they want to mentor us in growing RWENZORI MARATHON. In life, you need people who have deep links and work with them to make sure you can associate with their contacts. We have agreed to find ways of helping Ugandan elite runners, Alan for example is visiting Uganda next year God willing and they work with elite runners. Uganda with all its talent has got only 5 amongst the world top ranked runners, something I would love to change, I now have enough contacts to make that change. Out of 5 Abel chelangat got identified from my Rwenzori marathon, and if we get over 30 among the elite, nothing will make us happy than that. We are exploring Uganda engaging with the big data base for example Toronto marathon and Ottawa marathons have and that will help change Ugandas image. @kajik5566 and Uganda high commission actually pushed me to come and I am very grateful because these are some of the biggest connections I have ever made. You only need to open the door for me and God has given me the gift of navigating spaces of power especially outside Uganda like now. Just see how we got to be a qualifier for 2 oceans marathons and comdrades marathons? BUT I MUST ACCEPT, BEING A UGANDAN PUSHING OUT HERE IS AN EXTREME SPORT, you struggle making these connections, back home actions are pushing away opportunities. Many people have no idea about what keeps us behind! We need 1000s of Ugandans across the world pushing agendas like this. But if we have to argue about how information can be handled, then it discourages efforts, there days one gets so discouraged but it’s home.

Thank you, Your Excellency, for championing Uganda’s tourism sector and reaffirming our country’s readiness to welcome the world. As we host the 10th Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo, we invite the world to experience Uganda’s diverse attractions with confidence. Uganda remains open, safe, and ready to deliver authentic and unforgettable experiences ….. from mountain gorillas and wildlife safaris …… to adventure, night life, culture, and hospitality. #POATE2026 #ExploreUganda
Yoweri K Museveni@KagutaMuseveni

I was glad to launch the 10th Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo at Munyonyo today. Uganda remains one of the most unique tourism destinations because of our favourable climate, rich culture, peace and natural beauty. Regarding Ebola, there is no cause for alarm. We are applying targeted measures and continuing to work scientifically to keep people safe while keeping our economy open. As our economy grows towards upper-middle-income status, we shall also improve the tourism experience, including friendlier visa arrangements to attract more visitors. I therefore welcome the world to come and explore Uganda, the Pearl of Africa.

WHY IN CANADA? Yesterday and today, we are exhibiting at the OTTAWA MARATHON which is having close to 40,000 runners this weekend. This week alone, OTTAWA CITY will earn close to usd 70m from the marathon and more indirectly. On Monday, I will be speaking at WESTERN UNIVERSITY about what makes Uganda unique and why everyone should visit. This is all being done in a partnership between RWENZORI MARATHON and UGANDA HIGH COMMISSION in OTTAWA CITY. Will do a presentation to a big group of Canadian tour operators as the last thing before heading home.

At the anniversary celebration, our partners were recognized and appreciated. Our mother ministries , @Mglsd_UG and @MTWAUganda, for their guidance, policy leadership and unwavering support to CCFU’s work. We couldn’t do any of the work we do without them. Thank you! #CCFUat20

Emily Drani & John De Coninck founded CCFU from an idea scribbled on a restaurant napkin, at a time when culture was seen as irrelevant. They funded its beginnings themselves and laid a foundation that 20 years later, continues to shape heritage safeguarding in Uganda #CCFUAt20

Congratulations to the Croos-Cultural Foundation of Uganda @CCFU_NGO upon marking 20 years of existence and impact in safeguarding and promoting Uganda’s rich cultural heritage. It is one of those organisations that do a tremendous job quietly. At a personal level, I as well celebrate CCFU because my PhD (2015) was from a Dutch-pioneered Pluralism project coordinated by CCFU in Uganda. 🌹 🌷 🌺 Thank you!

Ugandan army I spent today afternoon giving a lecture to Generals and Senior officers in Mbuya accredited to different countries around the world as Defence Attaches/Advisors about Ugandas potential and how we can exploit that potential for our own good. The generals and senior officers were very attentive and they asked many questions which was great. Left them excited about positioning Uganda and was inspired to give more of these talks to groups like theirs.
