Another parent can be at home all day and fail to provide it. Presence is not measured in hours it is measured in emotional availability.

Nobody cares if women work. But MOTHERS should not say to their children “I could stay home and raise you, but I prefer to be at work. I’m going to pay someone $12/hr to raise you instead.” We created a 2 income trap. Pushing moms into the workforce was a mistake we need to fix.

@KMH_Stories @Rach4Patriarchy …Environments in which humans evolved. The problem is not that parents sometimes rely on external care. The problem is that we have created societies where parents are often isolated, unsupported, and then judged for how they cope with that isolation.

@Rach4Patriarchy What matters is not how much time is spent, but the quality of connection within that time. A regulated, emotionally available parent for fewer hours can offer far more to a child than a constantly present but emotionally strained one.

This is insane. Am I the only woman who’s going to talk about what’s best for children and not what’s best for adult women? 95% of all the time you’ll ever spend with your child is gone by the time they turn 18. You can do other shit after that stop being so damn selfish.
