Common law marriage used to just be, wait for it... MARRIAGE. And this was the case until a bunch of dads got angry enough over their daughters' dowries being stolen by loser men that the west literally had to create state instituted marriage. You're mad at marriage. You're mad at the same thing people were mad at hundreds of years ago for literally the same reason. How stupid are people to not see this?
