@mattscott77 I read your comments about GP’s that you have now deleted. The whole system is stretched beyond capacity with a huge workforce crisis. Your comments about GP’s were so unprofessional, untrue and offensive. Happy for you to come and see how hard they are all working!

Lazy night I tweeted misguided at best , ignorant at worst comments about GP’s in this country. I joined the ambulance service to help people not watch them get sick in car parks. I’m angry but blaming the wrong people. I’d like to apologise to whom ever was offended

Do you need to call 999 but too scared to speak or make a noise?
You can press 55 when dialling 999 from a mobile, this then tells the police that the call is a genuine emergency

@SotonMax @geordiemedic Agree not ideal but I’d be more concerned about the safe practice of a clinician who doesnt check the labelling of IV infusions against a drug chart to confirm the correct drug, dosage and expiry and double checking with a colleague before giving it!

@KevinSW18 @awoodall19 Yes but GP’s are still needed to work on site to see all the patients needing face to face assessments/examinations, administer all the covid vaccinations plus do all the home visits for acutely unwell patients and care home ward rounds.

@awoodall19 Genuinely want to know, if self isolating and v mild symptoms, can GPs work remotely like they did during Lockdown? Many friends in other professions are . Its NOT a dig or cynical response. Thanks

I’ve a GP friend now having to isolate due to Covid, the last of 2 left standing in their practice. Their staff are shredded due to Covid. That leaves one GP to manage 13,000 patients. This is what allowing uncontrolled infection to run rife does. Unsafe for patients and staff.

@MManuella611 @awoodall19 Not true, GP’s, Nurses and Pharmacists etc have still seen patients f2f following triage if necessary in surgery or home visits. How do you think all the covid & flu vaccines were also given to the housebound and care home patients during the pandemic? It wasn’t on the phone!

I mean, since the pandemic, GPs have been dealing with patients by PHONE, not f-to-f, so why doesn't your friend continue do that from home? Mine does!

1) This is why we shouldn’t be told to see al patients wanting a face to face appointment!
2) Telephone triage first, SAFELY advise them to book their own PCR test if symptomatic (whilst waiting at home) as we cannot order them.
3) GP’s don’t have spare side rooms??????

@pulsetoday @UKHSA @NHSEngland Wait, so we isolate them in a non-existent side room for 2 days until the PCR is posted to us? Or until we book a drive in test for them, often the following day? What about after that, they live in the "side room" until the reault is back?

Agree please don’t call your GP for Covid booster vaccine information, this is the wrong advice from @BBCTheOneShow please visit nhs.uk/conditions/cor… and leave GP phone lines open for patients needing to get through to book urgent or routine appointments for medical problems.

Great that boosters are going to be given to all over 18’s and 12-15 year olds will get a second dose of vaccine. But please don’t follow the advice from @BBCTheOneShow or @BBCNews to phone your GP about it. You will be contacted when your jab is available for you! #GetBoosted
