Contract update: Zac Bailey has told team mates he wants to stay in Brisbane as the club and Bailey’s management work through options make the gap in offers from other clubs smaller. Lachie Neale also wants to remain at the lions, although family first clearly is the motive. If not Brisbane don’t rule out Retirement although isn’t likely. Dayne Zorko is remarkably a chance to play on again next year, after talks of retiring 3 years ago. Cooper Hodge is weighing up still if he wants to choose Hawthorn or the Brisbane to nominate for next year. Both clubs will have their work cutout with the new father son/ Academy Rules. #AFLFantasy

Personally I’d stick with Gallop in defence now and bring either ZZ or possibly Cody Curtin in forward. You could always put Gallop forward and Darragh Joyce into defence. They have options.

Brisbane lions review: It was a good win considering the conditions, North Melbourne have improved and will push the good sides, it was just the levels of class that the lions are too good. It feels Brisbane are in first gear and have now won 3 in a row. It was also the first game almost at full strength so a lot of different players to play together. Although it seemed except for Lachie Neale the mids couldn’t get going and dominate like they usually do but to still win by 4+ goals shows how good they are. Player notes: - Dayne Zorko calf seems to sideline him. The lions running backs depth is ridiculous. - Kiddy Coleman is doing his job, slotting in fine. Although with Zorkos injury he will be the kicker they’ll go all the time. ✅ - Noah Answerth should return this week. - Oscar Allen is proving why the lions got him, another 3 goals and looks back to his best. 🎯 - Hugh McCluggage got through only playing about half game time and finishing with 20 touches. ✅ - Sam Draper was awesome, it’s paying off. - Darcy Fort was quiet, It seems to be looming Sam Draper will be the main man soon. - Zac Bailey, what a top tier superstar ⭐️ - Lachie Neale was probably was the reason they won. As I reported all Pre season he is back at his best. Next week: The lions travel to Melbourne to play Melbourne at the MCG Sunday, they’ll have a good break.
