@JackEDeakin@Keir_Starmer@UKLabour So you will re-election the person that has brought the Labour Party to the edge of oblivion with the hope he can save it? Good luck with that.
If there is a Labour Party leadership election this year or next (and I hope there will not be one), as a Labour Party member, I'll vote to re-elect @Keir_Starmer as @UKLabour leader and Prime Minister.
Wrong time, hugely damaging to party, country & the British people.
@kokeshimum Well, a crushing by-election defeat in a safe Labour constituency following on from the locale elections won’t be stellar for Starmer either, will it? 🗳️
Can anyone explain what the plan is for when Burnham loses?
Asking for the entire fucking country who is absolutely sick to the back teeth of this bullshit.
You’ll miss Keir Starmer when he’s gone spectator.com/article/youll-… I couldn’t agree more. Change, after 14 years of Tory austerity, is bound to take time before people begin to feel the benefits.
Sad to see reports that the great David Burke has died. A fine actor with a wide body of work on stage &screen, including the Wilmer Sherlock Holmes series, Armchair Thriller, 2 Ghost Story for Christmas films, and, of course, as an impeccable Dr Watson to Jeremy Brett's Holmes.
Frankenstein is transphobic, claims non-binary director! These people really need to find more interesting stuff to talk about! 🤯🤪 telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/05/1…
@DiscussingFilm Can only be answered when the setup is known. If it’s an origin story (likely), I’d say Tom Holland is actually not a bad choice, he’d also bring a new (read young/Marvel) fan base to the franchise. If it’s going Fleming 50s period Noir, Big Henry might even still be in the mix.
@VinnieSull1van@Lost___London@PubHistoryTours Sadly, I fear, the fate of many more buildings in the future. “Listing” won’t save them if there is enough to gain from tearing them down.
The architectural decline of London:
The Victorian Mappin & Webb building, a Grade II listed neo-Gothic structure at 1-2 Poultry near Bank station designed by John Belcher in 1870 was demolished in 1994 following a lengthy legal battle to make way for the Postmodernist "No 1 Poultry" building.
It wasn't falling down, it hadn't been hit by bombs, it was simply in the way of those who wanted it gone.
@Anniepop2027@wesstreeting@SkyNews@LBC Careful using broad terminology. I don’t know how old you are, but I’m old enough to have voted for Thatcher, and therefore, in my opinion, she was the best PH in MY lifetime. You’re free to your view, but don’t use “our” to define the thoughts of the electorate when it doesn’t.
You will NEVER be forgiven @wesstreeting
Best PM in our lifetime.
Shame on you. Reform -Vote Reform “get Starmer out” followed like the weak man you are.
We stand by Starmer. The electorate voted him in as our leader. 2 years is not enough.
Shame on you. @SkyNews@LBC
Sorry to learn of the death of Alan Rothwell. Alan was known for numerous TV roles, but perhaps best remembered as David Barlow on Coronation Street, a part he played from the first episode in 1960 until 1968. RIP Alan.
Whenever I see Emily Thornberry, I always think she should be doing an Alan Bennett Talking Heads monologue.
"I see no.32 is out with her Waitrose bag again but we all know she shops at Lidl, and the whole street knows the butcher is giving her more then a bit of scrag end"
