this is the 5th electricsql app I've built — I've been turning everything I'm learning into a reusable starter and standard production environment. Which means both are gradually getting a lot faster.

In the past week I built and deployed two micro-apps. I was curious what exactly would take the most time so took fairly detailed notes as I went so I could write this post. First a bit about the apps and then I’ll breakdown the time spent and draw a few implications.

@samwillis @ElectricSQL thank you, let me check that. i also tried do but with similar results. after that i deployed electric at least 10 times to fly (deleted the old ones) and ran into an issue where sometimes there is one fly app or there are two. the fly.toml was always the same.

@andrezimpel @ElectricSQL There's a discussion here on our discord about the issues discord.com/channels/93365… It seems to be a generic Prisma+Fly issue, the OP fixed it but he's not sure how.

@ElectricSQL is there a guide on how to use electric in next.js? :)

@samwillis @ElectricSQL awesome thank you! currently i am most struggling with deploying electric tbh. i deployed it to fly.io but unfortunately when i run my prisma migrations nothing happens. not even an error. :(
