Observations after using @cursor_ai heavily: pros: - UX is excellent, especially inline editing (so much better than copilot) - AI writes 20% of my code now and like 50% of the styling - default rules for AI is 🤌 cons: - sometimes you need the AI to write code in many parts of the same file, but selecting the whole file makes the AI take way too long and you're stuck waiting - sidebar is pretty useless aside from debugging unless the AI can insert its suggestions into the correct place in your code automatically. - you should be able to cancel suggestions halfway thru without losing the suggestion. - mental tax for figuring out how to correctly instruct the AI is sometimes larger than just writing your own code

i don’t think i’m cool enough, in some important sense, to live long-term in a place like sf or nyc or lisbon or berlin. all those places feel like they take more energy to live in than i can consistently muster. but portland is so okay with rest and slowness by comparison
