VR’s narrative is being set by people who don’t build in VR, don’t spend time in VR, and don’t see the small teams quietly winning. VR’s best news happens in huge Discord servers, not on social or news articles. Jump into the culture for the good news.

Diner goth article sells itself short, the real story is that “aging out” of adolescent subcultures became a class marker sometime in the last twenty years

@VGolyanik The phrase "single event camera" is odd and unfamiliar. Is that the same as "single still image"?

@MattZeitlin Meanwhile actual Norwegians cosplay “human rights”, “green energy” and “Palestinian” activism. Norwegians are bog people living off of oil. Without oil and the green buck, ALL Scandinavians would still be pissing in the same outhouses they had in the 1980s.

@Rengle820 @LexSumone It's a lot easier to build with platform independence in mind, than it is to add it later. Always seek out non-proprietary apis where possible

If you're building for VR, build something so good that people buy a headset purely to use your thing.

There should be no public calls to prayer and no praying in public. British citizens have been arrested for silently praying to themselves. Yet @Keir_Starmer endorses Trafalgar Square being taken over by a muscular posturing religion that would set aside Christianity.

I don’t understand how anyone could hear about salvia trip reports like “I spent 5 years in the bug dimension” or “I was a sentient inanimate hose in my back yard for 20 years” and still be like “well maybe I’ll just try it once…”

@_LucasRizzotto @abaguena @Nadeshot Did you see the post where someone fixed the tone mapping issues? That mitigated a lot of the issues I had with the original examples. I'm confused by the ferocity of the responses. A simple "meh. do better" seemed a proportionate response.

@abaguena @Nadeshot Sure? But most games don't even go for photorealistic visuals. It's a solution in search for a problem in many ways.

Genuine question, why are people mad about this? I’m really not even trying to be dismissive or sarcastic here. Why in the world would anyone be mad about this?

No, there hasn't. There's been a lot of dumb takes from the Pro AI side but I have yet to hear a dumb take from people who are sick and tired of this AI slop. The filters look like garbage. You don't need Snapchat filters in our games. Also, Nvidia is only proving how out of touch they are. They're trying to sell AI features to gamers who can't afford gaming systems because of AI. The only people defending this crap are people who financially benefit from AI. Because it's a bubble they have to do everything they can to make sure people keep supporting it. So they come out with a lot of dumb takes.

DLSS 5 got trolled pretty hard but do you notice that out of nowhere almost every post on Twitter now is people defending it. That's not organic. That's a paid campaign.

I want to give a genuine shoutout to the indie developers experimenting with the @Logitech Muse and @PlayStation VR 2 controllers on @Apple Vision Pro. Your curiosity and hustle are keeping the creative spatial landscape alive. But I have to ask—with all due respect—where are the major players? @Adobe @Substance3D Modeler. @gravitysketch @tiltbrush Quill! These are tools that already live in the spatial computing realm. The leap to Vision Pro shouldn't be a giant one. The PSVR 2 controllers are purpose-built for the kind of precision and expressiveness that 3D artists demand: polygonal modeling, SDF sculpting, freeform spatial creation. The controller input is there. What's missing are the professional-grade creation apps to match. My Logitech Muse stylus is collecting dust on my desk, much like its PC counterpart has since launch. That's not a hardware problem. It's an ecosystem problem. Apple Vision Pro professionals, especially those of us coming from production pipelines in film, games, and XR, are hungry for serious creation tools, not just consumption experiences. The platform has been ready since launch. So have we. That was two years ago. Maybe I'm too optimistic, but let's see what WWDC26 has up its sleeve this year. #AppleVisionPro #SpatialComputing #3DArt #XR #CreativeTools

@SteveTalkowski @Logitech @PlayStation @Apple @openbrushapp We went to their dev day and they loaned us a device. But that was about all the contact we had and information about porting existing projects was nonexistent. Got the distinct impression that communication between Apple and Unity was fairly minimal.

If I were a member of Apple’s developer relations team, I would’ve been in touch with all the majors I mentioned MONTHS in advance to ensure a launch day release. It’s mind boggling we still don’t have anything substantial available. Yes, I’ve seen and tried the SDF sample that Apple posted last year, but why reinvent the wheel when we’ve got a perfectly functioning app in Substance 3D Modeler?
