@Fakecongirl @xavierbonilla87 Would definitely be up for a chat!! From my perspective, I think there is an important distinction between biology as what we are capable of thinking about the world, and biology as some kind of mind independent truth. That's not to deny the explanatory power of biology for us.

@andyjonesphd @xavierbonilla87 I think our Kantian schemas/pre-existence is our unconscious biological knowledge. What we as a species "know" but are not aware of. It would be fun to have a zoom chat about this if either of you are up for it. Cheers!

@Fakecongirl @xavierbonilla87 Thank for listening!!! It's really interesting to think about how biology shapes us, but also how we shape biology, hopefully taking a Kant inspired perspective helps open up these ideas. Kant definitely is weird though 😅😅

@andyjonesphd @xavierbonilla87 This was a truly fascinating conversation! I love how you say Kant is strange. Strangeness is cool! Individual judgment does influence science...but biology influences judgement. Patterns are amazing, but nature is not perfect for a reason. cavedwellerclub.com

@multiplicityCT Thanks @multiplicityCT. Whewell is definitely not given attention as he deserves. I remember reading Laura Snyder's Philosophical breakfast club and thinking how good it was as an introduction to Whewell and his contemporaries working in Cambridge.
