Being firm & consistent with behaviour doesn’t mean you don’t care about children nor does it mean you are ignoring needs. But sometimes children just need clearly upheld boundaries and to hear the word no.

Conflict isn’t the problem… avoidance is. What we don’t say builds pressure. What we don’t challenge creates stress. Handled well, conflict brings clarity, strengthens relationships, and leads to better decisions. So…are we avoiding it, or learning to use it?

A formal evaluation should never be your first visit to a classroom. If it is, skip the evaluation. Leave a Post-it of Praise note instead. Notice something good. Name something specific. Let the teacher know you saw the work, the heart, and the effort before you ever try to score it. Because trust has to be built before feedback is ever received.
