A number of people have reached out and asked me how they might pray for me, so if I can ask for a specific request, I currently have two more weeks left of chemo-radiation and then a break for a couple of weeks before they put in a port for six rounds of more serious chemo (my brand will be FOLFOX chemo 🦊). This is called neoadjuvant therapy. And the goal is total response, meaning that it obliterates the cancer before we even get to the surgery stage so that surgery might not be needed. If you are willing, I would welcome prayers for total response and for the side effects not to be too onerous. So far I haven’t felt too bad and am incredibly thankful for that!

Here’s what I don’t understand, if the SBC has disfellowshipped @Saddleback what does that do to the relationship with @californiasbc and the Orange County Southern Baptist Association (@pstrvictor)… how can the church be “not in friendly cooperation” with one and in good standing with the other two? It just seems like Saddleback was singled out because of @RickWarren’s notoriety / others’ long-standing jealousy of him & Saddleback / controversy over @andywood and Echo Church.

@Saddleback is eager to turn the corner & focus our attention on the exciting ministry in our future. We will continue to do our best to serve God’s purposes in our generation & support pastors all over the world. We wish the SBC the best & pray for God’s grace upon its future.

I hold a conservative biblical view of marriage and the Bible. I may interpret women in leadership differently but that does not make me a “liberal” 😀

@Saddleback holds to the inerrancy and authority of The Bible and a belief that marriage is a covenant before God between one man and one woman. For political purposes the mob has twisted our efforts to resource, love & support parents with LGBTQ kids.

@dixontroy @Saddleback You asked two questions in one with competing answers. 😀 certainly if marriage is covenant relationship between a man and a women that would make any sexual act outside of that a sin. what you’ve seen is a false description of @Saddleback for the purpose of political gain.

Post Covid leadership belongs to scrappy leaders. A scrappy leader never says “when i have x then I will lead” they have faith that God can do something from nothing! They never wait for optimal conditions to sow or go. They shift the atmosphere by bringing hope in darkness!

As children we begin with an all good/ all bad dichotomy. Later we discover that our hearts are a complex web of goodness and brokenness. The Psalmist prays “test my heart” for a reason. Spiritual formation is Jesus lovingly and patiently removing the bad and putting in the good.

Everything we think, type or say falls into 1 of 4 categories: False negative, false positive, true negative and true positive. Parsing out your own thoughts and words is one of the great acts of wisdom and maturity.

#TenaciousTeachability is the secret sauce to success in every area of your life. It’s the combination of a humility to own your gaps with a relentless passion to get better at a great personal price!

God is very attentive to the person you are becoming. Most dilemmas in life become so much easier to solve if you pick up the WHO filter before WHAT and HOW.

Most of the biggest problems you are facing are more spiritual than you are thinking. It’s not only spiritual but it’s certainly all spiritual. We need humble prayerful knees and open discerning eyes. God please give me both!
