Watching people flip from "Trump is a war criminal for threatening to bomb Iranian infrastructure" to "Trump is a coward who always backs down" in a matter of just a few hours is a reminder that some people are just subversive counter-signalers who do things to get attention online.
If Trump had "followed through," you people would be pissing your pants right now, calling him a genocidal monster, and demanding that the 25th Amendment be invoked.
You can only get away with concern trolling for so long until people stop caring about what you have to say.

It's time to panic sell everything and become a trooned-out anti-Trump edgy counter-signaler who is functionally indistinguishable from guys like “evan loves worf.”
I’m new to this, so I need some help. What are the top 10 recommendations for how to tell people to start voting Democrat?

I always thought horseshoe theory was a bunch of nonsense until I witnessed guys with names like “EvolanGroyper1488” write things that are entirely indistinguishable from an Occupy Democrats menopausal wine mom Facebook post.

@MatthewSkrzypc1 @ANickGames @skscartoon The conclusion is far more important than the context. The intention of a line of thinking/law doesn’t mean shit if you know the conclusion
English

You’re kind of proving my point. Saying the Civil Rights Act was a mistake because later generations applied its protections more broadly isn’t some neutral legal observation, it’s a value judgment about who deserves protection under civil rights law. People aren’t ignoring context, they just disagree with the conclusion. Calling that indifference doesn’t make the argument stronger, it just skips past the actual debate.

@Luan75937152 @ChristianHeiens The problem is for whom
English

@ChristianHeiens Your argument that an "open" definition of "people" would give one side eternal control of power is false, and Trump's victory in 2024 refutes your argument.
The electorate will always demand good governance regardless of demographic changes.

Liberals of all stripes in Western nations have this fixation with open borders, mass migration, and amnesty for illegal immigrants because they truly believe, in their heart of hearts, that citizenship and suffrage are open-ended concepts that can and should be applied to everyone on Earth.
But this is an impossibility. And I don’t just mean that in a physical or practical way. It’s genuinely philosophically incoherent. You would dissolve the country if you tried this.
If citizenship and suffrage are open-ended in principle, then the composition of “the people” becomes an open-ended principle.
So far, the liberal doesn’t see any problem with this.
Okay, fine. Let’s just say you’re really high in openness. But you’ve just turned the political identity of the electorate into a moving target.
And this is something that I don’t believe the average liberal really thinks through all the way (or perhaps they do, which is far darker), because if the people can be constantly redefined, then the people aren’t sovereign. They literally can’t be. The mechanism that makes and remakes them is the real sovereign.
Stalin has this infamous phrase where he says that it’s “completely unimportant who in the party will vote and how, but it is extremely important who will count the votes and how.”
This goes even beyond that. Whoever controls the ability to reshape the electorate by redefining who gets to be in the electorate in the first place ultimately controls everything.
Liberals pride themselves so much on “our democracy” but they support a set of ideological principles that undermine the very point of democracy because it opens the door for one side to intentionally manipulate the composition of the electorate to win before any votes are even cast.
