For someone who so often references “The Charter”, Justin Trudeau has remarkable contempt for the actual content of the document. Someone who believes in “Freedom of Conscience” would not tell Canadians they hold “unacceptable views” when they oppose his policies.

@MarkJCarney We can be a nuclear superpower by “investing” in Westinghouse reactors. (Westinghouse is owned by Brookfield; they paid Mark Carney to influence the government) We can be be a renewables superpower by “investing” in Evolugen, a subsidiary of Brookfield. (You get the point)

It’s time to make Canada the world’s leading energy superpower — to reduce our reliance on other countries, fight for Canadian jobs, and defend our economic sovereignty.

@EvanLSolomon @liberal_party The @liberal_party will say whatever it takes to get elected so that once in power they can corruptly funnel $billions of public money to their friends at Brookfield, SNC Lavalin, Bombardier etc. Promise seniors a few bucks so you can get rich while bankrupting the country.

Pleasure meeting with residents at Fudger House this morning. A @liberal_party government will protect retirement savings and increase GIS for one year to support seniors during these uncertain economic times.

@gmforbes35 @brianlilley 2100 is 75 years away To get from 40M to 100M in 75 years you only need to grow at 1.2% annually which is way below our historical growth rate. This is easily achieved by encouraging Canadians to have kids and allowing minimal, prudent levels of immigration.

@brianlilley Carney just appointed Mark Wiseman, head of the Century Initiative who wants to get Canada to 100 million by 2100 (and advised Trudeau to open the floodgates) to his council for US-Canada relations. CPC might want to hammer that.

Voters are fickle. Polls can change. Campaigns matter. Been saying it for years. Both the Conservatives and Liberals would be wise to remember these words as we head into a campaign when the electorate is volatile. torontosun.com/news/national/…

@KamalKheraLib To ensure that Mark Carney is Canada’s Prime Minister please re-elect the Liberal members of parliament who spent the last decade leading us into this economic crisis by saying whatever it takes to get into power then looting the country to reward themselves and their friends

@KevMVickers I think you’ll find that everyone on that list was elected before becoming prime minister. Most were elected to parliament. Tupper was elected to the NS legislature. Carney is the first PM who has never run in any election at all.

@DrJacobsRad It’s all about corruption. The “net zero” and “international development” narratives are simply cover for directing public money into private companies for his personal benefit.

I don't think people truly understand how dangerous Mark Carney is to the Canadian economy. He's quite bright and speaks with authority, but let's break down what he's actually saying. In this short 2021 Bloomberg clip he suggests that billions of public dollars should be provided as guarantees to public companies (like Brookfield) so that they can borrow TRILLIONS of dollars to build clean energy infrastructure in the third world. These private companies would earn massive profits from infrastructure projects in foreign countries financed by public dollars from G20 countries. Third world countries will not be able to pay for the infrastructure meaning it's the citizens of G20 countries who would lose billions or more on the transaction. Canada's national debt would explode. It's a massive wealth transfer with no tangible benefit to the citizens footing the bill. Carney's priorities are clearly net zero, followed by corporate profits, followed by third world development. The needs of the taxpayer doesn't fit into the equation. Canada simply can't afford Carney. @PierrePoilievre @MarkJCarney

@gmforbes35 @MarkJCarney As his very first act, Prime Minister Carney has instructed the government to ignore the law. This was also the first move for PM Trudeau, who chose to violate the Reform Act.

@MarkJCarney LOL. You clearly don't know how government works. You have not "cancelled" it. You can't "cancel" legislation via an OIC. Only legislation can undo legislation. And you aren't bringing Parliament back. You have essentially PAUSED it. New PM, same Liberal gaslighting.

The consumer carbon tax is not working. It’s become too divisive — at a time when Canada needs to be united. As my government’s first order of business, I have cancelled it.

@stephenfgordon Whatever it takes to win. Because corruption requires winning. Policy is flexible - a thin veneer. The real objective is to loot public money and line their pockets.

Liberals don't care if a government is good. They only care if it's Liberal.
Nigel Protter 🇨🇦@NigelProtter

@stephenfgordon True, but not for your implied reason. He has to assure a liberal government. It’s PPs’ destruction of the idea of an efficient pigouvian carbon tax that was pathetic.

Maybe? I dunno. But as I said to Jen on the pod yesterday, we live in weird political times. In the last decade, the Liberals have run from the left, the NDP and CPC have both run from the centre, and now the LPC and CPC are both going to the right. Lot goin' on.
Castora@_____CASTORA

@mattgurney Would be better if Conservatives built regional parties and developed coalition governments. Their big tent doesn't work.

@thatsKAIZEN Canada and the US negotiated a free trade agreement in 1987 that eliminated thousands of tariffs. Only a few remain, including Canadian tariffs on dairy and US tariffs on sugar. Meanwhile the rest of the world still has massive tariffs on US products.

Would you believe these insane tariffs that the U.S. is bullying Canada with? 250% for milk? 291% for butter? 208% for whey? 241% for CHEESE? Oh wait - those are actually tariffs that Canada imposed on the U.S. last year.
