@Milajoy Maybe there is another way. Like you put a $100k bond down for fire and police. It is drown down at cost +10% any time you use them and. You get your remaining bond returned when you sell your house. The city gets any interest earned. Do that for all civic services.

My home is paid off. Why do I have to pay property taxes on it?

@captain_EXTREME @dieworkwear @lachlanscards The original contention here was that policy takes a year or two to take effect. Trump owns the first 3 bars and Biden the last 3. PPP was Trump. The rich and corps got the overwhelming majority of the benefit of both of Trumps tax bills while drastically increasing the deficit.

@angrymike2 @dieworkwear @lachlanscards Biden had 9% inflation. Because of HIS COVID policies and the ones passed by the idiots in congress. And those “tax breaks” helped out a lot more than “rich” people. But sure orange man bad. Got it. My bad.

@JonesSidewinder @GScottShand Are they seen now? There are 6-8 states in play. The candidates spend all their time in the biggest cities of those states like Philly, Detroit, Milwaukee & Phoenix. With no EC they would go to KC, Nashville, Dallas, & Indy. That’s good. They are never going to a town of 5,000.

@JonesSidewinder @GScottShand You just identified 50 million people, 20% of our country, who are completely ignored in presidential elections. There are millions of people in the suburbs of those places where there is a closer split. Campaigning to those people and targeting policy towards them would matter.

@GScottShand And when you eliminate the EC, every election will be decided by NY, LA, Chicago, Houston, SF etc. Nobody will bother focusing on anyone outside of a large city. It won't improve anything.

@aminadoce @HSTemile @CowGames579 @masiamade Hotspur stadium and Wembley are both 15 km from Westminster. Similar distance as MetLife to the Empire State Building. Seems like people are worked up because they didn’t put it in a neighborhood.

@HSTemile @CowGames579 @masiamade It's not in the middle of nowhere either. You can walk from London centre to any of the stadiums in the city.

@masiamade Hotspur stadium and Wembley are both over 15 km from Parliament. Were the people who chose those locations derelict?

just a friendly reminder that republicans have a trifecta and could pass a federal ban on gerrymandering *tomorrow* if they wanted to. but they don’t want to. they want to rig the system. and then they turn around and throw a temper tantrum when Dems fight back

@SupahKaz @sam_d_1995 Who said it is republicans fault? They did start this wave but both parties do it and the current environment allows and encourages them to do it to the max. Both parties need to come together and fix it. Until then the Dems would be idiots to unilaterally disarm.

@sam_d_1995 Lmfao. California was more rigged before the recent gerrymander than Texas is now. Indiana chose not to gerrymander. Virginia did. But it’s the republicans fault? Wtf man.

@BQ_Sports @botzarelli @eric_hontz But they only have hotels and air bnbs for 1/4 of those 100k. No easy way to get to State College, Norman, Lincoln. Also someone from Japan or Germany doesn’t want to spend multiple days there.

@GShaneMorris Both can be considered blasphemous. I don’t care about blasphemy. I care about hypocrisy. People who care about religion seem to support Trump. They are hypocrites if they have a problem with only one. Also the first one is not a person of power implying they are Jesus.

A FB dude pointed this out, and it's very much true. If your reaction to these two images was substantially different in either direction...time to do some soul-searching/principles inventory.

Reporter: Did you post that picture of yourself depicted as Jesus Christ? Trump: It wasn't a depiction. I did post it and I thought it was me as a doctor. And had to do with red cross as a red cross worker, which we support and only the fake news could come up with that one.

@BrianKJorgensen @cturnbull1968 You prove your identity when you register. This creates excessive and unnecessary barriers as a reaction to a made up problem. Resistance to tyranny is not proof that the tyranny is justified. That is a really stupid argument.l

Think about what Washington Republicans are actually asking you to believe: that there are noncitizens so committed to voting illegally that they’d risk deportation, prosecution, and everything we’ve seen ICE do, just to cast a ballot in our elections.      There is no documented crisis of noncitizens voting. It is already a federal crime, and it always has been.       Republicans invented a crisis that doesn’t exist so they could sell a “solution” that makes it harder for YOU to vote.      Call it what it is: the SAVE REPUBLICANS Act.
