@thetrainline please help. I was rushing for the 14:48 train from KX yesterday. Missed it by minutes but your CS team have said my open return ticket (£156) is now void as I scanned it at the gate. I haven’t used the service….I even have proof I got on another LNER service.

@thetrainline I admit I scanned it at the gates but it wasn’t scanned onboard or at Newcastle on my departure as I wasn’t there at the Newcastle arrival time. So why can’t the return leg remain valid? I don’t want a refund just the ability to use the ticket next week for another trip.

@thetrainline Thanks William, survey done. I totally appreciate that and if I had used the service of course I would totally agree, but I couldn’t as the 14:48 had departed and I couldn’t wait for the 20:27 as I need to get home for a personal commitment. I have proof I was on the 15:30 LNER.
