1/8 Ever wonder why daydreaming makes you forget things? A new EEG study just cracked open the brain mechanism behind it 🧵 #Neurosciences #WorkingMemory #BrainWaves New publication alert from CBDL @DBT_NBRC @saide_iitj @iitjodhpur led by PhD student @ankitcog investigating human memory using dual task EEG and self-related processing along with @arpansview Yadav, Banerjee & Roy (2026), Frontiers in Human Neuroscience #EEG #CogNeuro #BetaWaves #MindWandering #WorkingMemory frontiersin.org/journals/human…

New preprint alert! A tour de force by Suman Saha and a former CBDL colleague with fantastic collaborators Chittaranjan Hens, Syamal Dana, @Priyankame1, @arpansview, Gustavo Deco, and me introducing a new framework that generalizes classic ecological scaling laws to complex neural systems with both positive and negative signals, enabling a principled way to quantify how coordination and synchrony shape large-scale brain dynamics. Using RMS-based scaling. In fMRI from 840 adults (18–88 yrs), we find: stronger neural synchrony → lower scaling exponent. With aging, resting-state scaling is stable, but task-related scaling shifts, especially in limbic, subcortical & cerebellar networks. In ADHD, this synchrony–scaling coupling breaks down, pointing to a promising systems-level biomarker of brain health. For an early look at new findings, see here 👇 biorxiv.org/cgi/content/sh… A generalized scaling law to characterize coordinated brain activity

🧠 New preprint alert from BRIC-NBRC (Dr. @PsethNbrc lab)! (First author: @A_r_c_h_a_n_a_M) We uncover a novel mechanism of neuronal damage in #COVID19. 🔹 SARS-CoV-2 accessory protein Orf6 drives necroptotic neuronal death. 🔹 A novel mitochondria-dependent pathway of viral neuropathogenesis revealed. 🔹 Targeting RIPK3/MTCH1 could protect neurons. 📄 Read the preprint: 👉 researchsquare.com/article/rs-729… We welcome feedback & suggestions from the academic community! @BricDbt @DBTIndia @DrJitendraSingh @rajesh_gokhale @DrSagarSengupta #Neuroscience #BrainResearch #COVID19Research #ViralNeuropathogenesis

@mvugt Is "sticky" thinking always negative in valence? I wonder how neutral or positive sticky thoughts affect performance!!
