@nilesh_pawar15 @TamalBandyo Promotions in PSBs must build trust, not suspicion. Opacity, favoritism & inconsistent criteria are killing morale. Transparent, fair & time-bound processes are the need of the hour, only then can we nurture real leaders, not just “chosen ones.” #PSB #FairPromotions

A very pertinent observation by @TamalBandyo ji. Transparency in promotions is not merely an HR ideal—it is central to morale, credibility, and institutional integrity. When processes lack clarity and uniformity, it inevitably impacts motivation and trust at all levels. As stakeholders in the system, we strongly believe that well-defined, objective, and transparent promotion frameworks are essential for sustaining both performance and fairness in all PSBs. This is an area that deserves serious, system-wide introspection and reform. @aiboc_in

A March ritual in public sector banks — internal promotions. A close look at the process which is often opaque. Not in all banks though. Latest #BankersTrust in ⁦@bsindia

DFS says only top 5% (Scale IV+) deserve fat PLI up to 360 days' pay, while 95%+ grind daily for 15 days max. But PSBs smashed records: ₹52,603 cr profit in Q3 FY26 (up 18% YoY), profit per employee ₹19.6 lakh in FY25 > private banks' ₹14.5 lakh! reality is... branch wale chai peene ke time bhi business kar rahe hote hain, aur ye log 'top performers' ko privatization ka bonus baant rahe hain.
Newton Bank Kumar@idesibanda

DFS thinks, Only top 5% work for Bank profitability & performance, while public sector banks run on each & every individuals from top to bottom. Discreminatory PLI is another step towards privatization.

Bank employees are central to financial inclusion, credit delivery, and economic resilience. Burnout cannot be the price of nation-building. A 5-day work week is overdue. The assurance exists—execution must follow. #BankersDemand5DayWeek

Why Bankers Demand #5DaysBanking 🏦 • 5-Days Banking was agreed in the 12th Bipartite Settlement — asking for implementation isn’t rebellion, it’s expectation. • UPI, ATM, NEFT, RTGS already work 24×7 — apparently only humans need rest. • Well-rested employees = fewer errors, faster service, better customer experience. • Global banks follow it. Digital India supports it. Files alone resist it. • Agreements signed, promises pending. Reform delayed is reform denied. Implement #5DaysBanking. Respect agreements. Respect bankers. #BankersDemand5DayWeek @nilesh_pawar15 @aiboc_in @DFS_India @nsitharaman @nsitharamanoffc

Bankers are not machines. We work extended hours, handle public pressure, & ever-increasing targets yet are denied a basic work-life balance. When government offices, corporates & even regulators follow a 5-day week, forcing bankers into 6 days is sheer exploitation.

Today's conciliation meeting at the Office of Chief Labour Commissioner, Delhi, has concluded. Unfortunately, no concrete developments were made regarding the implementation of Five Days Banking, and hence, no consensus could be arrived at. Let's march ahead united and determined to make the Nationwide Strike on 27th January 2026 a grand success!

When the world is moving to a 4-day week, and banking is already 24x7 in the digital era, bankers asking for a 5-day week isn’t a luxury. It’s justice. IBA has agreed. The understanding is signed. Now the Government must honour its commitment – no more excuses, no more delays. Respect the Settlement. Deliver it. We demand #5DayBankingNow

𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗿, 𝗣𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲. A rare banking product: Assurance with unlimited validity, zero execution. During the BPS Settlement, 5-Day Banking wasn’t demanded—it was assured. Bankers accepted in good faith and delivered in full performance mode. A year later, systems are digital, productivity is high, weekends are still working days, and the promise is quietly earning dust—not interest. Official channels spoke. Time moved. Workloads grew. Implementation stayed on leave. Bankers honoured the settlement in letter, spirit, and extra hours. This isn’t about comfort—it’s about credibility. In a 24×7 economy, commitments can’t remain in “pending” status forever. Waiting for the assurance to mature into action. #5DayBankingNow @nilesh_pawar15 @rupamsmail @aiboc_in @fboioa_india

𝗠𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘄𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮 🇮🇳 Digital payments break global records. Banking is online, instant, paperless, 24×7. Customers rarely visit branches. Technology evolved. Workload transformed. 𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸? Still living in a museum. The world moved to #5DaysWorkweek India moved to UPI, AI, fintech, and digital everything. Yet banking employees must still prove that rest improves efficiency. Apparently, in our system, servers can work nonstop, apps can run round the clock, but humans must stay “available” to justify progress. A #5DayBankingNow is not a luxury. It’s not a demand. It’s a global norm. So the question is simple: Are we building a 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝘆 or proudly preserving a 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 —updated with 𝗤𝗥 𝗖𝗼𝗱𝗲𝘀? #5DayBankingNow @DFS_India @PMOIndia @FinMinIndia @nilesh_pawar15 @rupamsmail @aiboc_in @fboioa_india

A commitment recorded, awaiting implementation. During the BPS Settlement, bankers were informed that 5-Day Banking was envisaged as a committed outcome rather than a demand. This understanding formed part of the broader settlement framework, based on mutual trust and good faith. Over a year has elapsed since then. While the system has adapted and performance levels have been sustained, the implementation of the assurance remains pending. • The assurance was conveyed through official channels. • Time has progressed, workloads and expectations have evolved—implementation is yet to follow. • Bankers have continued to honour the settlement in both letter and spirit. This issue is not one of convenience, but of process consistency. In an increasingly digital and time-sensitive economy, policy execution gains importance alongside policy intent. It is therefore hoped that the commitment is taken forward to its logical conclusion. #5DayBankingNow

When 99.8% of transactions are digital and branch visits have plummeted to a mere 0.2%, the physical presence of staff on Saturdays is no longer a necessity for the public. Public Sector Banks have delivered a record ₹1.78 Lakh Crore profit, driven by a 421% explosion in digital growth. Our bankers have built this 24/7 digital infrastructure; they deserve a fair work-life balance in return. The data is clear, the profit is record-breaking—implement #5DayBankingNow @nilesh_pawar15 @aiboc_in @rupamsmail
