Drama in the Lorenzo Sonego and Pierre Herbert match at Roland Garros. Herbert stops play at 0-1 in the 5th set facing break point because he believes Lorenzo’s ball was out. The umpire comes down and says the ball was in. Pierre to the umpire: “You’re gonna see it. Look me in the eyes. You’re gonna see it. It’s gonna be out. And you’re gonna be really, if you don’t say sorry after that one… I’ll never speak to you again. You don’t even imagine…” 2-0 Sonego in the 5th. 👀

Visa and Mastercard will finally face some competition. Europe is building its own payment system that will launch in late 2026, when about 130 million people in 13 countries will be able to use it. It integrates the Wero app with national services like Bizum in Spain, Bancomat in Italy, MB Way in Portugal, and Vipps and MobilePay in the Nordic countries. The system transfers money instantly from one bank account to another using Europe’s fast payment network, so people can keep using their usual apps while a central link simplifies cross-border payments. It starts with person-to-person payments in late 2026 and adds online and in-store payments in 2027. They want to cut costs and keep money and data inside Europe, and rely less on foreign card companies like Visa and Mastercard. This will not replace Visa or Mastercard completely, as those cards will remain useful for travel and some shops, but it is a good alternative for Europeans to the usual payment processors.

Heute Nacht wurden zwei Schüler von mir abgeschoben! Beide sehr bemüht, ehrgeizig und höflich. Beide integrationswillig und wissbegierig. Der Vater wird noch abgeschoben, weil er heute eine Nachtschicht hatte. Er hat es innerhalb von anderthalb Jahren geschafft zum Steuerzahler zu werden. Die Familie ist christlichen Glaubens. Ich könnte den Behörden als Lehrer etliche Integrationsverweigerer benennen, die einen Scheiß auf Deutschland geben. Diese Familie wollte sich integrieren und Teil unserer Gesellschaft werden.
