I have mixed feelings on the Minnesota church that was stormed--mostly anger but also the fatigue of knowing it will only get worse. As growing pains increase and Jesus' return gets closer we will all face challenges like this church in Minnesota. I want to outline three lessons I think we should gleam from yesterday. 1. This is just the beginning. If you're a regular church attendee prepare yourself for this coming to your church soon. The Bible says gird up your loins but in other words stay dressed. Don't get comfortable...it's time to go to be about His business! If you're a church board member ensure questions are raised with the pastor on how this should be handled at your location. Security members of a church, you have a duty to protect your congregation. This will happen again and in more rapid succession. We should be taking notes. 2. As these things increase I hope and pray you see our time is short. Time is almost up for the person you've been putting off talking to. Give them the good news and let the Holy Spirit do the rest. God only asks that you plant the mustard seed. Time is also running out for you. If you've been merely flirting with the idea of repenting stop. The hour to follow Him with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength is right now. All in. 3. Jesus said you might be hated for His namesake. In some instances He promised it. Not everyone will receive you respectfully and courteously. Do you remember what He told the disciples He sent out alone in the power of the Spirit? If they receive you, stay there. If they don't? Kick the dust off your feet and continue down the road. I think it's important to pray for the lost, but the path/gate is narrow for the few who find it. Spend time with those that are genuinely seeking Truth. If they're not? Move on.
