But like- In real life I’d say it’s rare to find both love and respect :3 nowadays if a woman confessed first she’d be called a chaser- and if a man loved a woman who was more richer- than he’d be teased over it (and if he’s a weak guy then he will become insecure)

Oh wait- yeah and it wasn’t like he was intimidated by her. If anything Hugh Grant’s character admires her and respects her. So it’s not like he separates who she is privately from her public self. I’d say it’s a well rounded film.

Also- it was kinda nice to see how it was the woman that had the amazing confession- cause usually in romcoms, it’s always the man that professes his love first with the cool dialogue. In this case, she was the one that reassured him that he was more than enough to love her.

-girl who wanted to be loved by him. She chose him, and he then realized that all he had to do was love her simply as she is and not her glamorous self. Their situation was not an ordinary one, so of course their story isn’t going to be a normal one.
