@annspeaks My aunt had surgery—and it was delayed and delayed. Meanwhile I’m like: “I need to finish my story about the Lillys town hall! Please just start this surgery so I can leave!”
There was a guy weilding a knife on my subway platform tonight. My thought, after I fully understood the situation, was: “If I get injured tonight, some press agents will necessarily have a bad day tomorrow, regardless of the nominations.”
"The White House has been hearing out a chorus of ideas in recent weeks for persuading Americans to get married and have more children". Everything except for paid medical/parental leave, affordable childcare, and affordable health care for parents AND children. Great job, dudes.
I just want to show everyone — my “suite” at the @RadissonHotels in upstate NY not only didn’t have any of the hallmarks of a suite, but instead of a closet it had this rack, which could be made higher, but could never fully adjust to adult height. It was something.
My mother’s two most anticipated shows were Good Night and Good Luck and Smash. (She was very excited about Boop too.) She kept talking about them. Tonight we saw the second! Now I’m retiring? Eh. I guess not.
@Wellesley All of this to turn around and increase tuition by over 4%, charging 92k/year for what? To be thrown to the wolves by the administration? Do the benefits of attending @Wellesley outweigh any potential harm?
Renaming it the "Mario Cuomo Bridge" is such a perfect example of the way the Prince of Darkness operates. Arrogant, aggressive and undemocratic. My mom is from a Hudson River town and her graduating class (many of them moderates) signed a petition to change it back to Tapanzee.
