They'll be in Iran in two weeks.

@SCShipyards Plus the airframes and spare parts over at 307th AMARG in Arizona. Which is another thing European countries (if you can even call them that at this point) don’t have. Turns out having boneyards is excellent for having a good defense structure.

French Gen. Michel Yakovleff saying that establishing an austere airbase inside Iran was crazy and that U.S. officials needed to "stop snorting cocaine" is now a TERRIBLE look for the French military.

And by "matter of scale", losing two C-130s would constitute a massive portion of any given European military's annual operating budget.
To the USAians, losing two C-130s is "one training mission gone wrong".
They "only" have, like, 1100+ of the damned things.

@JeffFisch It takes around a week to replace the airframes, as 307th AMARG is a thing. Or if we need to build them from scratch, maybe a few months
As for a WSO to be trained, sure it takes less time to make a new airframe, but a human life in the end is worth more than some aluminum parts
