How can one have a budget of UGX 1,458,265,700 for travel abroad, UGX 490,800,000, for travel inland, UGX 928,183,272 for allowances, UGX, 264,000,000 for transport maintenance, UGX 240,000,000, for death benefits and funeral expenses, UGX 225,417,500 for workshops and seminars, UGX 168,810,000 for advertising, UGX 119,800,000 for welfare and entertainment, and UGX 22,992,500 for beddings and clothing all from the Office of the Leader of the Opposition and you find it okay? Not forgetting 2 lead cars.

Why then is he not stepping aside, as Among has, to allow an independent investigation into corruption at Parliament? This evening at State House Entebbe, I met the first NRM Caucus of the 12th Parliament and welcomed the endorsement of Hon. Jacob Oboth Oboth as candidate for Speaker and Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa as candidate for Deputy Speaker. I congratulated them and reminded the Caucus that since the inception of the NRM, we have rejected bad politics. When choosing leaders, we must first ask what needs to be done for the people before asking who should do it. Politics must reject identity, religion, tribalism and gender chauvinism, and instead focus on solving people’s problems. Our priority remains wealth creation and social- economic transformation through productive engagement in agriculture, services, artisanship and ICT.
