From @TheAthleticFC: Hearts have been broken, but finally we know the identity of all 48 teams that will be at the 2026 World Cup. We ranked the teams from No. 1 to 48. Here's who is most likely to win it all in New Jersey on July 19. nyti.ms/4bXqNHd

OpenAI shutting down Sora is the most predictable outcome of misunderstanding consumer behavior. Everyone grossly overestimates how creative people want to be. 99% of humans simply want to scroll and zone out instead of spending energy conceptualizing, editing, and creating videos. No matter how much the barrier to creation is lowered by a single prompt. It still takes effort and a fair amount of creative thinking. Even Instagram has 2 billion users. But hardly ~10 million (or 0.5%) would be serious creators. So any AI consumer app betting on "with [new_app], everyone becomes a creator!" is being delusional and will go down the same way. After all the word "consumer" exists for a reason. They consume. They don't produce (or even want to lol)

I feel some gravity towards b&w version of the new logo But also believe Screen Studio brand is quite connected with the current colors. Indigo is quite everywhere, tho.

My wife works in a large German corporation, and it’s exactly like that. She’s very ambitious, but the environment around her is the complete opposite. She’s surrounded by colleagues who have been there for 20–30 years and are simply waiting for retirement. Managing people in that mindset is incredibly challenging. Some even take long burnout leaves and may be out for a year. It may work well for older employees - you can do the bare minimum and still feel secure because it’s very difficult to get fired. But for young, ambitious people, it can be a frustrating environment. And it’s probably the same with most companies in Germany. That’s why working for an American company here can be a big advantage: they usually pay better and promotions tend to come more easily.

@HonestlyNaoSei The inability to fire people is a key reason why Europe is struggling. At-will employment in America is central to why their high-tech economy works so much better than the European one.

Starbucks strike rhetoric is fascinating. Calls to boycott Starbucks in supposed solidarity with workers are trending with hundreds of thousands of retweets, but only 65 stores out of 35,000 (11,000 in the US) decided to strike. Nobody seems to care what the other 99.8% think.

the dirty secret about this aesthetic is that most designers can and want to do stuff like this for start-ups, but it’s founders shooting themselves in the foot by playing safe
