@DanW400 @SomersetCCC It’s because he’s the fourth best spinner at the club, it’s not Somerset’s fault that England are idiotic enough to pick him

@RobManley4 Jev + Macca make 18 as you say. 2 more loans I’d say 20 is enough. Thoughts?

Quality in the door. I really don’t see a weakness w/ our current crop of players - Maybe a forward in the door? Get Jevani Brown + Luke McCormick through the door. ✍️ A loan LB as cover? Maybe a forward as Jarvis + Tahv are injury prone? #YTFC

@theoc_14 I would happily accept Keir Starmer giving me a peerage to work as Transport Secretary although Heidi is doing a good enough job at the moment so I won't be mounting a transport secretary leadership challenge just yet 👍

On Sunday the 25 May South Western Railway was nationalised! I've made a video on the nationalisation and what I believe it could entail as well as exploring the SWR network for one last time before nationalisation (filmed 24 May). Do give it a watch: youtu.be/UnfjhxNDlew

Here I'll fix it for you. 🇺🇸 Americans, quick reminder. Hamburger – German concept (minced beef), but modern hamburgers are 100% American. Hot Dog – German sausages, but the hot dog bun and modern hot dog are American inventions. French Fries – Belgium origin, but modern "French fries" were popularized in the U.S., especially at the 1888 World's Fair in Paris, Texas, not France. Apple Pie – English roots, but "As American as apple pie" comes from U.S. culture. Ketchup – Ancient Chinese fish sauce origin, but tomato ketchup as we know it is American. Mac and Cheese – England/Italy roots, but boxed mac and cheese (what Americans eat) is American. Fried Chicken – Scottish frying techniques + West African seasoning influences, but Southern fried chicken is uniquely American. Doughnuts – Dutch oliebollen, but the ring-shaped doughnut and glazed styles are American innovations. Cheesecake – Ancient Greece had early versions, but New York-style cheesecake is American. Barbecue – Caribbean origin in technique ("barbacoa"), but American barbecue styles (Texas, Carolina, Kansas City) are uniquely American. Chili con Carne – Born in Texas, not Spain or Mexico. Fully American dish. Tacos – Mexican origin, but American hard-shell tacos are U.S. creations. Pizza – Italian (Naples), but American pizza (New York, Chicago, Detroit styles) is a different beast. Bagels – Polish Jewish origin, but bagel culture (e.g., New York bagels) is Americanized. Pickles – Ancient Mesopotamia, but dill pickles and fried pickles? Pure American twists. Beer – Mesopotamia and Egypt originally, but modern lager culture (especially American brands) is U.S.-dominated. Pretzels – German monks started it, but soft pretzels and pretzel buns? American specialties. Meatloaf – German meat mixtures, but ketchup-slathered American meatloaf is ours. Corned Beef – Irish idea, but the Jewish deli-style corned beef Americans know is U.S.-made. Ice Cream – Early Chinese experiments, but modern ice cream parlors, sundaes, cones = American. Ford GT40 – British prototypes, but Ford took over, finished it, and crushed Ferrari with American racing teams. Be proud that we made our own shit and made everyone else's better.

@ScottCTomo88 @zavalasbitch @The_Forty_Four 1. They average 40% possession and don’t try to play out from the back 2. The players they bought were the very very best championship players at the time. If they’re nowhere near good enough for the prem then that just further shows how big the gap is

Gary Neville:”The gap between the Premier League & Championship is too big but it’s not a conversation for today” When’s it a conversation then? If people keep burying their head in the sand our pyramid is not going to be close to what it’s always been😡

@martin31684 @The_Forty_Four They bought the very very best championship players. The fact that the best players in the league below (Szmodics had about 40 goal contributions for a side that was nearly relegated) aren’t good enough for the prem just further shows how big the gap is

@anth_ytfc @The_Forty_Four Ipswich are a good example of poor spending though, spent most of their money on Championship players who are overpriced. Much more value abroad, just look at Brentford, when they got promoted they spent about £30m and finished 13th

@zavalasbitch @The_Forty_Four Ipswich don’t play free open football! They average about 40% possession which is down from about 55% in the championship. They’ve adapted their playing style massively since coming up

@anth_ytfc @The_Forty_Four Best players at the time, some of them are very good but asking them to play free open football is never going to work when you’re in the premier league

@HenryLindop @The_Forty_Four How can you say that Ipswich play suicidal football. They don’t play out from the back and average about 40% possession compared to about 55 in the championship, on top of spending 150 million. What more can they do, the financial gap is just ridiculous

@LivelyOblivion @The_Forty_Four But that’s all changed now. All it took was for 3 teams to go straight back down and now there’s a cycle. The 17 that stay in the prem get 100 million every season and everyone else can’t compete

@The_Forty_Four It's never a conversation! All three clubs have gone with a style that was ill-suited for newly promoted sides. (Leicester would have been better sticking with Cooper) Brentford, Bournemouth and Brighton have established in the Premier League.
