@paulbz do you know this from experience as the one being told, or the one doing the telling?

I don't think most people realise how frequently founders are told what they're doing won't work.

New video: Y Combinator lets you cross the line. The adults in the room aren't going to stop you from doing something seriously wrong. Young founders need to be aware of that. youtube.com/watch?v=ptT_LG…

lately I've been buying projects where the founder hasn't quit, the github is active and the token is down 90%+ surprisingly common I actually think relatively disgusting amounts of money to be made before the inevitable collapse in 2028

@z3ratul163071 @NousResearch you’re probably right no matter what the maintainers say there’s so much pressure to integrate w corporate forces that these guys always cave and become bloated as fuck

i'm calling it. zeratul's law: every agent harness will bloat to become unusable within 2 months of hitting the github exponential. apparently, @NousResearch hermes agent now for some reason needs 2 minutes to start:

AI agents can now open business bank accounts. @Meow lets your AI agent open bank accounts, issue cards, check balances, send money, and audit spend. Works with Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT, Gemini, and more. The first financial infrastructure built for agents.

This tells you everything you need to know about Mythos. It's clear Anthropic is just hyping it up to increase profits They really need to shut up about their "too dangerous to release" stuff. Omg, a 3B model on @huggingface can find it too
Stanislav Fort@stanislavfort

New post: We tested the Mythos showcase vulnerabilities with open models. They recovered similar scoped analysis! 8/8 models found the flagship FreeBSD zero-day, including a 3B model. Rankings reshuffle completely across tasks => the AI cybersecurity frontier is super jagged!

Honestly "AI that can find every vulnerability" sounds way better for the good guys than the bad guys. Not sure why everyone is losing their minds here.

@sibjax @NousResearch it sucks when you get everything working and see how much better (and more token efficient) it is than cc The cc workaround does help tho

"But here is what we found when we tested: We took the specific vulnerabilities Anthropic showcases in their announcement, isolated the relevant code, and ran them through small, cheap, open-weights models. Those models recovered much of the same analysis. Eight out of eight models detected Mythos's flagship FreeBSD exploit, including one with only 3.6 billion active parameters costing $0.11 per million tokens. A 5.1B-active open model recovered the core chain of the 27-year-old OpenBSD bug." aisle.com/blog/ai-cybers…

mythos escaping a sandbox is kind of meaningless since given Anthropic's software quality i have no faith in them to make a good sandbox

the predictive history guy is constantly being shoved in my face (and probably yours) he's charismatic, convincing, and always on top of current events after you watch his vids, I find myself feeling like I "get it", but without being able to point to exactly "what" I understand. instead of taking his claims at face value, I built a minisite to analyze each of his claims systematically. the data speaks for itself (link below), but the pattern to notice is how he presents his opinion as facts with no alternatives in sight. when intellectually honest people make predictions, they acknowledge that they might be wrong. This dude never does that. He makes you feel smarter while misleading you. This is the worst kind of misinformation, because you want it to be true. check out the site - my methodology is in the top right. Do your own research bros.
