@wolfstrength How the hell is this build even possible at 5’10? 30% at 185 is insane 😂

Deep Squats, Shallow Thoughts
A skinny-fat novice wants to get fit. He’s 30, 5’10/185 with about 30% bodyfat, no immediate health red flags. What do you do first? 1. Build strength base while moderately recomping 2. Cut him to 10-12% bf then slowly build 3. Bulk/Build, You Only Novice Once 4. Blast gear

@SinglePoint451 @stevemagness Oh come on. If you can run a 5k in like 27-28 minutes, you can run an 8 minute mile. Almost no one over 40??

@stevemagness This seems like garbage. I run marathons but not particularly fast. Over 40 male. Almost nobody in this age group runs sub 8 min mile, even max effort.

I never saw these until the post-election article I mentioned, and even now cannot find them in any pre-election articles. There is always a chance there’s some subscriber-only content, or newsletter I did not see. So if these charts are in a pre-election article too, I take back some of what I said

@Midwest_expat @TrueSlazac Those tables were also in his pre election published model results though. And he even mentioned how oddly close it was in the pre election article.

If you’d flipped a quarter 80k, you would have likely had a wider variance in results than what he got. (Butchered the wording there, but you know what I mean) And I don’t know the guy personally, I’m not in his head. But it was awfully convenient he omitted this from the pre-election article and only brings it up after the election That’s alll I’m saying

@Midwest_expat @TrueSlazac I guess I cannot 100% rule out that he felt comfortable seeing a roughly 50/50 projection if it confirmed his priors But I just can't accept that he tinkered with model inputs to achieve that result

I think he’s gotten worn down, he was less wrong* than everyone else in 2016 and they tried to make it seem like he was an idiot for giving Clinton only a 70% chance of winning. He’s got competition with prediction markets now. Posting another take that ends up wrong turns him into a semi-irrelevant talking head. So he just plays it down the middle and then after the election goes “see, my model predicted this”

@reddit_lies It's not dumb to say everyone shouldn't have to start work at 9 am It's really dumb to propose that everyone start at some other specific time that is convenient for you

@brunson_lover @TrueSlazac Well yeah the results aren't random even if the modeling requires some randomness. Models are often going to look dumb post-hoc. If your model veers much from using history (i.e. data points that have correlated to results in the past), it's not a model, it's punditry.

@TrueSlazac Eh, elections aren't really the same probabilistically as say dice. With dice, no amount of prior knowledge can give you certainty of the outcome, but that's not true of an election. It's also pretty obvious that Harris did not have a >50% chance of winning that election

@TrueSlazac No, I just think he didn’t have the courage to trust the model he initially built, and kept tinkering with different weights on it until it became useless.

Left-wingers, especially those from the aging generations, define themselves by their self-image as the counterculture. If they actually stop to acknowledge that they've firmly held the establishment for at least a decade, arguably two or more, then not only do they lose the justification for their activism, they lose what they see as their purpose in life. So, they have to hold up this larp that they're still sticking it to their bible thumping grandpappy who died twenty fuckin' years ago to feel better about stomping on the right-wing youth who grew up under their near-unchallenged reign.

@GuruAnaerobic @Brady_H But he isn't claiming they can't beat the marathoners in a sprint (obviously true), he's claiming the fitness people can't sprint at their marathon pace, which is crazy.

90% of these health influencer guys saying you should “sprint” instead of run marathons couldn’t sprint at a faster speed than an elite marathoner runs for 26.2 miles straight.

@Brady_H I'm sure they could generally hit a 6.5 second 40 yard dash. And realistically, the top speed in that would still be higher than world record marathon pace.

*woman enters transfer portal with 26ppg* *random man (also fat, Not averaging 26ppg) makes fat comment* Why even say anything about her appearance? Does she need to lose weight? Probably. Does her being in the transfer portal have anything to do with that? No hopefully you can afford a nutritionist tho bc you do need one. Obviously.

@SonicMar10 @jaredjshapiro @DukeOfZamunda There are many guys who are completely sedentary and will have trouble benching 90 pounds when they first start. If you can bench 175 first try you are well above average. I've worked out a lot of complete beginners and its depressing how little strength they have.

Most annoying part of this is that enough people complained, forcing them to tweet the statement below. People will believe anything they see without an ounce of critical thinking. Second most annoying part of this is the Wizards thinking an unremarkable number of accounts, all probably with Spongebob profile pictures, negatively commenting on the skit warranted a public apology. Nobody was watching this game live or in person, a couple people just used the video as a vehicle to project their insecurities and the bots repeat/intensify what they say. Complainers couldve spent that energy complimenting the actors, who were so good that many actually believed this poor, innocent guy had been genuinely trolled out of $10,000. And now it has me looking the worst of all complaining about complaining. I hope all of you never see the show Jury Duty. Actually, I do. Because maybe we’ll all get free Amazon Prime if you organize like this again.
