Just left Karen Hospital where our brother Senator Osotsi is being taken care of. He is badly injured but the doctors are taking good care of him. They say he is “stable”. I don’t know what to say in these situations honestly. It shouldn’t come to this.

The Kigumo Sub-County Hospital in Murang'a County has undergone a major upgrade, part of the National Government's ongoing reforms aimed at realizing Universal Health Coverage (UHC) by bringing essential health services closer to the people; a key pillar of the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA). The expansion, which was completed in 2025, is designed to decongest regional referral hospitals such as Murang'a Level 5 by providing comprehensive services locally. The upgraded facility now accommodates all outpatient services, casualty care, pharmacy, male and female wards as well as minor and major theatres. The hospital also includes a powerhouse to support reliable electricity, with the oxygen plant and final equipping still underway. Since the upgrade, hospital revenue has increased, indicating higher patient uptake and improved service delivery. The State Department for Internal Security and National Administration has supported the project through oversight and coordination, recognizing that robust health infrastructure is foundational for individual wellbeing and the security of the community. Very very sad! Since independence we have an embarrassing situation where the CS in charge of Security and his PS are the primary cause of insecurity in the Country; a nation predominantly known as an Island of Peace in Africa. They are in charge of mobilizing goons and giving the goons police escort to unleash violence on innocent citizens. It is unbelievable that those entrusted with securing the people of Kenya have been organizing goons and some rogue police to attack our churches and thereafter protecting them from prosecution. Today is another sad day. Rogue Government officials organised goons from Kisumu to go and attack fellow Kenyans in Kakamega under police protection. One of the goons was not lucky. The knife he had carried to go and harm others when accosted left him lifeless. He left his home for a few coins and will go back in a casket while others were seriously injured. Let the Government officials create employment for these young people instead of enticing them with handouts and sending them to premature deaths and injuries. I thank God for the gift of family. Toninight, I am overjoyed by family presence as we treated our dear son Dr. Keith Ikinu to a sumptuous birthday dinner at the Carnivore Simba Salon, Nairobi. The Carnivore has retained it’s reputation as the restaurant of choice for excellent service, tasty recipe, ambience and very friendly staff since my visit in 1984 where I enjoyed Choma and danced the nights away in my younger days.
