The CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF personally flew to Jos. Not a spokesperson. Not a press release from Abuja. The man himself, with a full high-powered security delegation, landed in Plateau State and sat down with community leaders, got briefed by the GOC, and looked the people in the eye. While keyboard generals on Twitter were busy typing "the government doesn't care," Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu was already ON THE GROUND. Operation ENDURING PEACE is not a hashtag. It is boots, briefings, and a curfew that is being enforced. The Nigerian Army is not theorising about security, they are coordinating it in real time, with real agencies, on the actual soil where people are grieving. And the civil-military cooperation angle? Governor Mutfwang receiving the COAS personally? That is how you send a message to terrorists and ethnic agitators alike that the state and the military are not divided, not distracted, and not going anywhere. The Chairman of Jos North said it himself that the presence of top military leadership boosts public confidence. Because it does. Because it should. Some people want chaos to fester so they can point fingers from their comfortable home and their Abuja offices. The Nigerian Army is refusing to give them that satisfaction. Plateau will not become a talking point. It will become a success story.

COAS LEADS HIGH-POWERED SECURITY ASSESSMENT TEAM TO PLATEAU, REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO LASTING PEACE The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, on Thursday, 2 April 2026, led heads of security agencies on an on-the-spot assessment of the security situation in Jos, Plateau State. The visit forms part of ongoing efforts to restore calm and entrench lasting peace across the state. Upon arrival, the COAS was received by the Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency, Caleb Mutfwang, in a clear demonstration of strong civil-military cooperation and a shared commitment to addressing emerging security challenges. During the visit, the COAS received a comprehensive operational briefing from the General Officer Commanding 3 Division and Commander, Joint Task Force Operation ENDURING PEACE, Major General Folusho Oyinlola. The briefing highlighted ongoing operations and proactive measures being implemented in synergy with other security agencies to contain threats, protect lives and property and stabilize affected communities. As part of his engagements, Lieutenant General Shaibu also interacted with community leaders and residents, reassuring them of the unwavering commitment of the Nigerian Army to safeguarding all law-abiding citizens. He urged residents to remain calm, vigilant and supportive of security agencies by complying with the curfew and cooperating fully with ongoing operations and investigations, while going about their lawful activities. The Chairman of Jos North Local Government Area, Hon. Dachung Bagos, commended the COAS for the timely visit, noting that the presence of the nation’s top military leadership would boost public confidence and reinforce trust in ongoing security efforts. Similarly, the Councillor representing Naraguta ‘B’ Ward, Hon. Ladi Dangyok, expressed appreciation for the swift intervention, describing it as a strong reassurance to affected communities. The Nigerian Army, under the leadership of the COAS, remains resolute in working closely with sister security agencies, the Plateau State Government and critical stakeholders to decisively address all security challenges. This coordinated approach highlights a firm strategic resolve to restore enduring peace, strengthen community resilience and ensure that Plateau State remains safe and secure for all. Today, I visited President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to brief him on the Palm Sunday night attack in the Angwan Rukuba community of Jos North Local Government Area, and to update him on the proactive measures we have taken to address the situation. The incident was deeply unfortunate, but we thank God that the situation has now been brought under control. In response to the attack, we swiftly implemented several proactive steps, including the imposition of a 48-hour curfew, the reinforcement of the existing ban on motorcycle operations within the Greater Jos Master Plan, and the immediate convening of a State Security Council meeting to review and strengthen our security framework to prevent further escalation. This morning, we relaxed the curfew from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to allow residents attend to essential activities. Regrettably, some miscreants took advantage of this window to engage in looting and attempt to disrupt the peace. I am, however, pleased to report that our security forces responded promptly and restored order without delay. The President expressed his support for the decisive measures we have put in place to contain the situation and prevent a recurrence of such unfortunate incidents. He also offered valuable counsel on strategies to achieve lasting peace in the state and extended his heartfelt condolences to the victims and the people of Plateau State. Deeply moved by the situation, the President has graciously adjusted his schedule to undertake an emergency visit to Plateau State as a demonstration of his concern, solidarity, and commitment to the people. He has also approved additional measures to be implemented in collaboration with security agencies to further stabilize the situation.

Today, I embarked on an inspection tour of ongoing road projects across Benin City, visiting key locations including: - Adesuwa Road Flyover II - Agbonze & Iyore Street, Ohoghobi - Old Sapele Road - Ohoghobi–Evbhukhu Boundary - Camplink Road (Obagie Ihriri Axis) - Evbhukhu–Amagba Road - Okpagha–Amufi Road - Amufi Water Retention Point - Iyanomo–Amufi Boundary Road For years, many of these communities were overlooked. Today, through deliberate road and drainage interventions, we are restoring access, addressing flooding, and opening up new opportunities for economic growth. These projects remain our voice for the people, and we will not relent until every community feels the impact of governance. VIRAL COMMENT OF A YOUTH LEADER ON RUKUBA COMMUNITY UNPROVOKED ATTACK, FALSE AND MISLEADING The attention of Headquarters Joint Task Force Operation ENDURING PEACE has been drawn to a false comment by one of the youth leaders of Angwan Rukuba Community, circulating on various social media platforms, alleging that troops provided cover for the perpetrators of Palm Sunday unprovoked attack at Angwan Rukuba Community in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State. Ordinarily, the reply to the comment made by the youth leader would not have been necessary, especially in this moment of grief, but for the purpose of clarity and the benefit of well meaning Nigerians it is expedient to state unequivocally that at no point did troops provide any form of cover for the terrorists elements who carried out the unfortunate attack that claimed the lives of innocent citizens. Rather, troops on receiving a distress call on the unfortunate incident swiftly mobilised to the scene, which was far away from where they were deployed and observed that the attackers had fled. Troops acted professionally to avert what could have spiraled to endless bloodshed and pursued the fleeing criminals as can be attested to, by so many survivors who were at the scene of the attack. Specifically, 4 Guntrucks mounted by troops were despatched to the incident scene and they acted professionally on arrival as confirmed by other security agencies, as well as eye witnesses at the scene of the attack. Nonetheless, the allegation was promptly investigated and confirmed to be false. The comment by the youth leader is false, misleading and unfortunate, capable of demoralizing troops and causing disaffection between the Military and its host community. The public is requested to discountenance the comment, remain calm, law abiding and continue to support troops with credible and actionable information on terrorists activities. Troops in conjunction with other security agencies have adopted effective strategies to unravel and apprehend the perpetrators of the dastardly act. Troops will continue to deal decisively with criminals while maintaining peace in every part of Plateau State. 30th March, 2026 PRESS RELEASE CRIME CRACKDOWN IN DELTA: POLICE STORM CYBER FRAUD DEN, ARREST 34 SUSPECTS; ARREST OF SUSPECTED ARMED ROBBERS, AND RECOVERY OF ONE LOCALLY FABRICATED AND TWO LIVE CARTRIDGES. The Delta State Police Command has recorded a series of coordinated operations that led to the arrest of suspects, the recovery of firearms, and the disruption of a suspected cybercrime hub. 1.POLICE STORM CYBER FRAUD HIDEOUT, ARREST THIRTY-FOUR (34) SUSPECTS In a major breakthrough against cybercrime, operatives of the Quick Response Squad led by SP Collins Arrey, on 28 March 2026 raided a location in Opete, suspected to be a hub for internet fraud activities. The operation was as a result of information received from a distress caller who reported that her younger brother sent a distress message that he is being held hostage and forced to engage in cyber crime ( internet Fraud). The operation exposed an organised network of young suspects operating from a residential apartment converted into a cybercrime base. Thirty-four suspects were arrested on the spot. Items recovered include 37 laptops, 1 iPad, 7 mobile phones, and a calabash containing suspected charms, indicating the scale and organised nature of the operation. Investigations are ongoing to unravel the full extent of their activities. 2.ARREST OF SUSPECTED ARMED ROBBER/RECOVERY OF FIREARM ONE (1) LOCALLY FABRICATED, CUT-TO-SIZE GUN WITH TWO (2) LIVE CARTRIDGES In another development, on 29 March 2026 at about 0900hrs, operatives of Department of Operations, Delta State Police Command, while on patrol along Ogbolu/Illah Road intercepted a tricycle conveying two occupants under suspicious circumstances. On sighting the operatives, the tricycle rider feigned compliance, while one of the passengers suddenly alighted and fled into a nearby bush in a bid to evade arrest. The suspect was immediately pursued. Upon sighting the operatives, he attempted to resist arrest by attacking them with a wooden object, but was subdued and arrested. A search conducted on the tricycle led to the recovery of a locally fabricated cut-to-size gun loaded with two live cartridges, confirming criminal intent. The suspect, later identified as Mustapha Musa (M), aged 32 years, from Kogi State, alongside the tricycle rider, Iyanosor Ogbizi (M), aged 34 years, were arrested and taken into custody. Both suspects are in custody, and the recovered exhibits have been transferred further investigation. The Delta State Police Command under the leadership ship of CP Yemi John Oyeniyi psc, acipm, mnips, reiterates its resolve to rid the State of all forms of criminality. These operations underscore the Command’s commitment to intelligence-led policing and rapid response to threats. Members of the public are urged to remain vigilant and continue to partner with the Police by providing timely and credible information. SP. Yeah, I've been looking for you on social media, and ta-da, I caught you. Where have you been all this while we were talking about the Ozoro Festival, which your people hold and in which the raping of women is part of it? Okay, just recently, a lot of women were raped in your so-called Urhobo-Isoko region of Delta State, and you have nothing to say about it—probably because it has nothing to do with Governor Alex Otti or the Igbo. So you obviously have nothing to talk about. This is selective witch-hunting. You only come out of nowhere to attack Alex Otti because he built a standard market for his people. While other governors, like those in Lagos, are busy turning blind eye to destruction of markets, burning or markets, evicting people without alternatives, locking markets, and penalizing shop owners, Otti is building standard markets in his state. Yet all you say is: Oh, the budget are inflated. Oh, this is politically motivated. Oh, the people are selective in their appreciation. All that is utter nonsense. Dear Reha, you have to stop this deliberate habit of witch-hunting accountability. The same thing you cannot demand from your state governor in Delta, don't demand from a governor in another state. That is selective accountability. We need to develop the character of celebrating development and progress instead of penalizing it through witch-hunting. Reha, you have to stop this.

So how much was invested in this buidling and project, that's the question Nigerians fail to ask. We have seen governors complete projects during their tenures, get praised even when it's the bare minimum, but then got accused of fraud afterwards. And considering how budget has been inflated twice now in Otti's government, I wouldn't put anything pass him. Is the project good, yes from the look of things, however, how much of taxpayers' money was spent on it. Accountability is not exclusive.
