AOC probably should tell folks whether or not she's running for President or Senate so we can figure out an actual plan either way. If AOC or another member of her stature doesn't run, what is going to be the DSA plan for 2028 President? Just sit out?

I respect the MUG plan, but I think it’s overestimating how many people are actually going to run for DSA’s endorsement. It’s probably just going to be AOC, and people’s opinions will just be oriented around supporting or opposing her

@davidsirota The establishment here was pissed in 2016 when we organized a small but effective ground game to win Bernie counties all across Colorado, and Colorado itself. Romanoff would have made a tremendous senator. I feel like Covid killed whatever momentum he had in March of 2020.

@javier_mabrey Anybody running against Hickenlooper, should have started in Feb. 2025, not Dec. 2025. Gonzales or any opponent would need a year-plus of campaigning statewide to get known. Aggressively campaigning while Hickenlooper was asleep at the wheel.

@DeepNotShallow W/o divulging too much of the private conversations I had with Karen Breslin, I think she had the timing right (announced in Feb. 2025), but she and her team didn't understand social media well. She's really good at explaining policy, though. Gonzales got in way too late imo.

@davidsirota As somebody who walked precincts as a child for Gary Hart (my grandfather's boss for 12 years), I can say a well-organized ground game statewide can win you a seat if you have effective messaging to back it up. This is how Bernie won here in 16 and 20.
