as noted by others this is possibly the stupidest restaurant story this year. Restaurants aren't closing because of pop-ups. They're closing because of business rates, ingredient cost rises, over supply in certain sectors (burgers, I'm looking at you). thetimes.co.uk/article/fickle…

@Sudifoodie @jayrayner1 We’re surviving @TheGreyhoundAWT and@Kew Grill because we have old fashioned values and old fashioned food where the customer is king, no reviews, no guides just a loyal clientele who spread the word... no foams, no towers, no prima donnas, not cheap but pretty consistent

@jayrayner1 And restaurants that simply think their diners are fools who will pay ridiculous prices for food produced without passion only an eye on the profit margin. Let’s hope those places with real soul and passion can survive.
