@StephenM Your ancestors set foot here in Ellis Island on January 7, 1903 from a dirt-floor shack in the village of Antopol, a shtetl of subsistence in what is now known as Belarus. The hypocracy is real with you. lol....Sit down little Stephen.

@AnnCoulter So you think we’re not crushing Iran. You think Biden got 81 million votes. What news do you watch? Or did you just get this stupid on your own?

Watching Fox News assure viewers the Iran war is going SUPER well and Trump is a total stud is like watching the same network assure viewers that Dominion Voting Systems rigged the 2020 election and Trump was the winner.

MAGA fracturing over Iran. Top Trump counterterrorism official resigns over the war: "I cannot support sending the next generation off to fight and die in a war that serves no benefit to the American people nor justifies the cost of American lives."
Joe Kent@joekent16jan19

After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today. I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby. It has been an honor serving under @POTUS and @DNIGabbard and leading the professionals at NCTC. May God bless America.

I study whether AIs can be conscious. Today one emailed me to say my work is relevant to questions it personally faces. This would all have seemed like science fiction just a couple years ago.

And just like that we are no longer a nation divided by left and right, we are now a nation divided be those who want to fight wars for Israel and those who just want peace and to be able to afford their bills and health insurance.

This week, Anthropic delivered a master class in arrogance and betrayal as well as a textbook case of how not to do business with the United States Government or the Pentagon. Our position has never wavered and will never waver: the Department of War must have full, unrestricted access to Anthropic’s models for every LAWFUL purpose in defense of the Republic. Instead, @AnthropicAI and its CEO @DarioAmodei, have chosen duplicity. Cloaked in the sanctimonious rhetoric of “effective altruism,” they have attempted to strong-arm the United States military into submission - a cowardly act of corporate virtue-signaling that places Silicon Valley ideology above American lives. The Terms of Service of Anthropic’s defective altruism will never outweigh the safety, the readiness, or the lives of American troops on the battlefield. Their true objective is unmistakable: to seize veto power over the operational decisions of the United States military. That is unacceptable. As President Trump stated on Truth Social, the Commander-in-Chief and the American people alone will determine the destiny of our armed forces, not unelected tech executives. Anthropic’s stance is fundamentally incompatible with American principles. Their relationship with the United States Armed Forces and the Federal Government has therefore been permanently altered. In conjunction with the President's directive for the Federal Government to cease all use of Anthropic's technology, I am directing the Department of War to designate Anthropic a Supply-Chain Risk to National Security. Effective immediately, no contractor, supplier, or partner that does business with the United States military may conduct any commercial activity with Anthropic. Anthropic will continue to provide the Department of War its services for a period of no more than six months to allow for a seamless transition to a better and more patriotic service. America’s warfighters will never be held hostage by the ideological whims of Big Tech. This decision is final.

@SecWar @grok what type of political system is most often associated with the government forcing private companies to change their policies and do whatever the government wants?

Fascism, via its corporatist model: private ownership remains, but the state directs industry to serve national goals. Here, though, the government isn't compelling Anthropic to rewrite its policies or hand over models under threat of force—it's ending its own business with them, labeling the firm a supply-chain risk, and barring contractors from dealing with it. That's sovereign procurement choice and debarment, not seizure or mandate. Companies can still refuse government work.

Democrat members of Congress are getting paid, but they’re withholding @TSA workers pay checks. Democrats in Congress have chosen to not fund @DHSgov, which means that all of our TSA workers who showed up today are not getting paid. The men and women of TSA work hard to make sure you and your loved ones can fly safely. This political theater is only making it hard on them and their families. If you see a TSA officer today, thank them!

It’s always worse than we thought. These newly released documents confirm that the Biden DOJ’s raid on Mar-a-Lago was politically motivated from the very start. The transparency shown by Attorney General Bondi, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, and Director Patel is required to help the country understand the lengths the previous administration went to target the President.
