Iran's maritime authority has issued a redrawn traffic separation scheme for the Strait of Hormuz to "avoid possible collisions with naval mines. maritime-executive.com/article/iran-p…

U.S. defence secretary Pete Hegseth says "many more vessels" are sailing through the Strait of Hormuz. Sky's @Chesh looks at whether the data backs up Hegseth's statement. 🔗 trib.al/qbbswDa

Satellite images going around show US 🇺🇲 E-3G Sentry cut in two by POSS ballistic missile direct hit at PSAB was imaged before parked at same place 👇

Pictures show the total loss of 81-0005, an E-3G “Sentry” Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) Aircraft with the U.S. Air Force’s 552nd Air Control Wing based out of Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma, following yesterday’s Iranian ballistic missile and drone attack on Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia. The strike appears to have purposefully targeted the most important part of the E-3, that being rear of the aircraft which holds its rotating radar dome, containing several sensitive instruments including antennas for the E-3’s AN/APY-2 Surveillance Radar System.

If genuine: A pop up attack with an IR sensor tracking the F-35 from the ground. Likely seen flying by day Iran has small IR SAMs derived from Soviet AAMs like R-27T/ET. Might also be Saqr-1/2 (358/359) loitering SAM Q: why didn’t F-35 EO/IR/MAWS warn the pilot, deploy flares?

A Pakistan-owned oil tanker carrying crude oil from Abu Dhabi took a huge detour while passing the Strait of Hormuz, staying close to Iran for almost 12 hours. Sky's Adam Parker says this could indicate Iran is allowing selected ships to pass safely through the Strait. 🔗trib.al/IX9PTC7

First non-Iranian cargo transits Strait of Hormuz with AIS on The Aframax tanker Karachi, carrying Abu Dhabi’s Das crude, has become the first non-Iranian cargo to transit the chokepoint while broadcasting its AIS signal, suggesting that select shipments may be receiving negotiated safe passage. According to #MarineTraffic data, the 237-metre crude oil tanker entered the Iranian Exclusive Economic Zone on 15 March at 11:33 UTC and crossed the Strait of Hormuz at 14:43 UTC. The vessel is currently sailing in the Gulf of Oman at around 9.6 knots, having successfully passed through the strait with AIS active. The transit follows weeks of significantly reduced traffic through the strategic waterway, with more than 20 long-range tankers reported to have exited the Gulf.
