I'm a born-again Evangelical Christian, and I didn't find Trump's healer meme even remotely offensive. So much so that the idea he was "portraying himself as Jesus" didn't even occur to me.

With the Working Families @TaxCuts, Americans are seeing more money in their pockets. The child tax credit has doubled for 34 million families, and the standard deduction has doubled for the 100 million Americans who claim it.

There’s not one thing the government does that the private sector couldn’t do better and cheaper. A lot of political side shows and circus acts on the news are meant to distract you from this fact. Our current tax system is entirely nonsensical. Yes, I’m mad about my taxes.

Young people should be able to opt out of Medicare and Social Security taxes. The IRS should send you a bill instead of making you figure out what you owe. Tax withholding shouldn't exist. Make citizens watch the money literally leave their accounts.

America existed from 1776 to 1913 without an income tax. Today, a portion of every dollar you earn is claimed by the government before you ever see it. If government has a claim on your income, it has a claim on your labor, your time, your energy, and your life. You shouldn't have to receive an annual "tax refund"—because your income shouldn't be taken from you to begin with. Until we are free to keep the fruits of our labor, will we ever truly be free?

For all my life I’ve paid taxes, and while I’ve been pretty irritated by it, this year it hits different. I always knew there was fraud and abuse but what we’ve learned this year makes me think MOST of our tax $$ funds fraud & abuse while a tiny chunk funds necessities. We need a revolution in how we spend money as a country and we need a revolution in how we tax people, because I firmly believe that YOU will put your money to uses far more beneficial to all of us than the government will. Extremely powerful interests want us to be slaves to waste and abuse. We don’t have to be. I really think this is the rally cry of the future. The more we’re taxed, the more we’re enslaved. The more money YOU keep from YOUR hard work, the more free we all are. We need candidates going forward who are committed to keeping their hands out of our wallets. Tax Day and we are sick of it! It's not just that we pay the highest taxes for the worst results. It's not just the billions stolen by the Democrats in fraud. It's the infuriating bureaucracy and hassle! When I'm governor we will rip it up:

Today, millions of Americans volunteer to pay federal income tax that actually is not required by law.

The income tax is a terrible system of taxation. Inefficient, ineffective, and an intolerable invasion of privacy. I have introduced legislation to repeal the 16th Amendment and end the income tax. Happy Tax Day!
