California is known for our Giant Sequoias, and we need to do everything we can to protect them from the ongoing threat of wildfires. That's why I was proud to speak on the House Floor in support of the Save Our Sequoias Act. This bipartisan bill takes the necessary steps to protect these natural monuments for future generations, and I look forward to working to get this important legislation across the finish line.

The Iranian regime is the world's largest state sponsor of terror and has threatened the United States and our allies for decades by funding proxy terrorist groups. That's why it's more important than ever for Congress to resolve the partial government shutdown impacting the Department of Homeland Security, whose core mission includes protecting our homeland from threats like these. The brave men and women working hard to keep Americans safe deserve the certainty and resources needed to do their jobs effectively.

My staff had the pleasure of attending the ribbon cutting ceremony for Delano's new Target this week. The store will offer an expanded selection of fresh and affordable produce, meats, and dairy products and is expected to create almost 200 new jobs for members of our community.

This week, Team Valadao joined the City of Lindsay's new Public Safety Chief Nicholas Nave for a tour of the Department of Public Safety. This facility is one of the few in California that hosts the police and fire departments under one roof with staff fully trained in both fields. Thanks for keeping our community safe!
