His whole view is that Muslims [in Gaza] “want to d**” because they go to heaven if they do it in a religious way (aka martyrs). This ideology exists in every single religion and is just always taken way out of context. His view is also much much worse, but no need to go into that conflict again, let us just cover the blatant Islamaphobia >> Sees a video of a grieving mother who just lost 5 kids and 50 family members thanking god that at least they're in heaven (and out of this horrible situation) -- "Yeah, she's a terrorist and so are all Muslims bc they wanna d** and don't care about life 😎🔥" What a boring, high school-level train of thought 🤦🏾‍♂️ His correlation of Islam to Hamas (and other terror orgs) is normal, most boomers think that, but the expressed continued and public hatred against Muslims is pretty unique imo Is this not just blatant Islamophobia? Name a single Solana collection that has done well in migrating or dropping a second collection on Ethereum. You can't. There are like 10 off top of my head that completely failed because they did it. Okay Bears dropping yet another 10k after their 10k had receded in price by like 90% is idiotic at best and deeply manipulative at worst: either way it prays on their existing community's massive sunk cost fallacy. Their "branding" is only branding in name "We're All Going to Be Okay (as long as you keep giving us millions of dollars)." Okay Bears is a perfect case study for how not to do branding in Web3. Why? Because they executed a Web2 brand excellently — unfortunately, they vastly overestimated how much that matters (it doesn't matter at all). Pretty graphics, cheaply made clothing, and mediocre WAGMI derivative narratives are a a dime a dozen. The Okay team has a fundamental misunderstanding of what branding is here — they're treating their entire project the exact same as any Web2 company would. They treat their community members as customers rather than contributors or valued individuals. Loyalty rewards programs, raffles, points, free "drops" of way less money than you actually paid. Maybe if they'd just used $1mm of your massive war chest to fund community initiatives you'd be in a better place. It is deeply gross to me and it fundamentally rubs me the wrong way because it is either: A. Deeply manipulative and extractive. B. Just incredibly dumb and short-sighted. I'm not sure which is worse. You don't need a lot of money to do anything in this ecosystem — you just need highly aligned individuals who care about something together. If you don't have this and you have a lot of money, spend literally ALL of that money empowering those that do (there are PLENTY of insanely talented and hard working OKB community members) I'd like to be solutions oriented on this project but I genuinely don't see any future for it now that they have tens of thousands of bleeding NFTs across 3 different chains (BTC, ETC, Solana). Community members will say "at least they're trying." Is the bar that low for you? That you're comparing a "brand" that raised like ~$15mm of of your backs to abject scams and rugs? Rant over. OKB is a masterclass in bad branding.
