@ChrisBalster ‘Voluntary’ love it. The pipe band at the start of the film is not Scots Guards ….but SG Pipes and Drums are there at the end. They obviously didn’t fancy volunteering for the whole march 😊💂

@Newbattleatwar @S_M_R_G Can’t identify the band 100% but it’s not the Police PB. Looks military certainly. Drummers with bugles etc best guess is Cameron Highlanders. Distinctive white sporran worn by NCO/officer standing in esplanade

@S_M_R_G Bit fuzzy but I think that might be Edinburgh City Police Pipe Band.

We've picked up a few new photos recently, and need a bit of help with some identification. We can see this is the Esplanade at Edinburgh Castle, any experts out there can help us identify if the pipe band is a particular regiment? Is it even a military band?

Old mate just posted this on FB. "The Sandhill" at the Guards Depot in Pirbright - a regular appointment every Saturday morning after Commandant's Drill Parade before we were fallen out for the afternoon. Up to the top and back, over and over again. I was 16. It was utter hell 😆

Fantastic to be back at wedding again. Pretty exhausting though. Today at Gosford House, East Lothian.

Friend on FB just posted this Adair Walk, or "Who Dares Walk" in Pirbright. Back when it was the Guards Depot the cookhouse was at the far end, and the road was lined by prowling instructors at meal times. "Get back and do it again! Arms shoulder high this time!" Memories 🤣🤣

@Newbattleatwar Don’t get me started John. Actually shouted out my car window at a cop I the Meadows last week. Both hands in pockets with baseball cap jauntily on the back of his head. At least he had the grace to look startled and remove said hands from said pockets 😀

Maybe I'm getting old but, the cap, the haircut and no shave 🤔. Also names on epaulettes, bad idea, collar number is plenty.
