@madsiegaydotcom No offense, but I got a Chuckle out of this because after getting medicated for ADHD, my parents realized I probably have autism too.

i made the mistake of hinting to my parents that i wanted to get evaluated for adhd by saying my therapist recommended it to me. my dad says "well you don't have to trust everything the doctor says. for instance, we ignored the doctor saying you might have autism!" what the fuck?

@RebelPsych @drinkonsaturday Say that to your engineering, compsci, majors. Curriculum isn’t everything. Experience internships personal projects yes. But to say the knowledge isn’t valuable itself is stupid. It's prerequisite knowledge for a reason. Not seeing applications of knowledge is your failure.

@drinkonsaturday That would be true if the knowledge gained was worth anything of value. It is not, in most cases. Degrees are worth something because of the degree itself, not the knowledge gained. In most cases, standards are non-existent or have been lowered to the point of meaninglessness.

It’s cheating—plain and simple. Smearing lotion on the lens to blind the proctoring AI isn’t “gaming the system”; it’s exploiting a technical flaw to get credit you didn’t earn. Tests exist to verify you mastered the material, not to see if you’re a better hacker than the software. And who learns? Nobody. The AI spits out answers; you copy-paste. You walk away with a grade and zero retention. Six months later you’ll still be googling the basics while the honest kid who studied actually knows their stuff. Short-term win, long-term self-own. College is already expensive—why pay for a credential that proves nothing? Use the AI to master the content instead of dodging it.

@isaacrrr7 Yeah with the father on this one. Self defense and paternal instinct even. Death is a hefty price to pay but you don't mess with someone’s family.

Imagine closing your entire consumer memory division because this guy signed a non binding letter that he would buy 40% of the world’s RAM. Only to have him rug pull 3 months later.

@BackwoodsEnginr Best of luck with the burnout. I can't guarantee i’d understand it, but may I ask for the slides? Love to learn a thing or two about it over break.

Lecturing tomorrow in Embedded Programming & Microcontrollers class; TBH, I'm not feeling it. No matter how good my slides are, how many demos or diagrams I include, this bunch is too incurious to even ask decent questions. They just want ChatGeepy to do their homework, and bag the rest. Also, I may be experiencing burnout. Summer break will do me good.

@PalmyrPar Gonna be honest more like under new management. Also how are they supposed to train EE, SE and CPRE without more widely acessable hardware. No company would want to pay an inflated price for hardware, impacting training and hiring.

@nutelaenjoyer @i2cjak If software engineers (not all) did their job fully optimizing software we wouldn’t have apps that are 100+ GB due to poor execution. Respectfully, is difficult I wouldn’t but they chose it. EE has created hardware but it should be used as headroom, not an excuse to fix less.

@Rothmus Bro’s just mad mathematicians can easily master practically any trade. B/c they actually are competent enough to understand and derive how and why things work. Instead of just memorizing a manual lmao.

@BackwoodsEnginr @RealSpitfire I despise idiocy. In fairness if someone stopped me for a Q&A w/ no cue i’d be a bit dumb too. I used to love APUSH. Now i’m really just math and physics. I forget to reevaluate my expectations of others. People can be proficient in their own ways. Programmers are clever.

@RealSpitfire It only gets worse from here unless radical solutions are undertaken, like stopping SNAP/EBT/etc and putting these people to work in factory camps and group farms, which will NEVER happen.

Fortnite raising the price of V-Bucks might be the most blatant scam in modern gaming. In-game currency tied to digital goods should NEVER be subject to “inflation” - These items cost LITERALLY nothing to REproduce. There is no scarcity, no supply chain, no materials. It’s pure corporate greed. Honestly one of the clearest examples we’ve ever seen.
