It’s official: We have a contract! @appmcjguild members overwhelmingly approved our new contract with a 97% ratification vote and 92% turnout. We’re also thrilled that our comrades and strike vote siblings @hvnewsguild also ratified their contract today.

Solidarity forever with The Record Guild. Nearly a quarter of their members earn less than $40,000 annually — a poverty-level wage anywhere in New Jersey, let alone North Jersey. Gannett management should be ashamed that it’s come to this.

We did it. Last week, @appmcjguild members voted 94% in a strike vote. 24 hours later, we reached a handshake deal on a contract (and @hvnewsguild the day after). Strikes work.

There are a lot of lessons we've learned in this 3.5-year fight, but here's the most important one: Strikes work. On 2/24 we announced a 95% strike authorization vote among us and @hvnewsguild membership. We reached the framework of a deal 24 hours later, and HVNG on 2/26.
