@SacAppraiser @JonnBonhomie Here’s the thing. Pathways exist. People use them all the time. Yes they are tedious. They are time consuming & incredibly frustrating, but they exist. I know because I’m 1st gen born here. My parents/family are immigrants. As is my husband. All citizens via pathways that exist

@JonnBonhomie This is where I think the White House needs to consider the reality and figure out how to deal with this. And what does a pathway to citizenship look like? Probably needs to be some reform there. And maybe stop arresting people when they are trying to do it the right way.

What’s happening in Minnesota is appalling. It feels like red dawn, but our own government. As Americans, we have to critique this. If we can no longer critique the government or political ideology we identify with, then we are no longer thinking. This has gone too far.

A new construction listing in New Jersey shows multiple bathrooms with no sink - and the asking price is around $1 million. In some parts of the world this layout is common… but for U.S. buyers, it’s raising eyebrows fast. Design trend or major red flag? Would you live with this layout - yes or no? ⬇️ 🇺🇸

@AdvisorJohn Appraisers of any sort aren’t sent. They send unlicensed people (anybody) to take exterior photos (no measuring) on the ones I’ve seen. Sending a trainee alone also isn’t an option (in my state) as they must be accompanied by a certified appraiser.

Loan Officers - are you using Hybrid Appraisals at all? The majority of my findings give me that option, but my appraisers seem to say it's a waste. I thought that if we kept the fee the same, it would help them scale by allowing them to send juniors out for pics/measurements. But it seems like that's either not the case or not how they are structured. I'm curious if anyone has feedback on that valuation process.

@jjernigantweets @FluentInFinance With property taxes and insurance rising annually (with no end in sight), that $2600/month becomes $3500/month. Add in a monthly HOA fee and welcome to almost $4000/month.

A $400,000 mortgage is $2,600/ month. A $400,000 mortgage was $1,600/ month in 2022. $1,000 more for the same home. Wild.

Tonight Chicago residents are having a property tax bonfire after they received their new property tax bills that have increased significantly Some residents reporting their bills have increased $977 from last year Democrats again increased property taxes due to budget shortfalls. Residents complain of rising assessments They say despite property taxes increase, there’s no notable improvements being made on their city

@SacAppraiser I also think part of the problem is the SM “all new on 1 acre of land w/all the bells/whistles” house. A “starter” home isn’t even considered. No one looks at a smaller home or one w/laminate counters. It’s sold, rehabbed, $150k+ added & then buyers complain about price.

Hearing more talk about young people not being able to afford a home because they’re spending too much on Uber Eats. Look, it’s important to be responsible, but many older people could not afford the house they own if they had to buy at the current price and rate.

@DuPageCountyGOP The north side has been taxed & taxed & taxed. The only areas left are West & South sides. Their taxes are minimal in comparison. Some even non existent. I’ve seen homes that show ZERO billed in taxes for the past 3 yrs. Why? How much could they get if those pd taxes as well?

So the poorest parts of Chicago get the tax hikes. This is the South and West sides’ return on investment for blindly voting Democrat nonstop for 100 years. That along with rampant crime, destroyed schools, food deserts, no private sector jobs, and nightly mayhem and chaos. For the love of God Chicago, Stop…Voting…Democrat!

@IlliniJen When you inspect a property for an appraisal you CANNOT count a bathroom as such with no working toilet. Whether it’s done on purpose or the middle of a remodel & just hasn’t been installed. Doesn’t matter.

Never forget: He ripped out his toilets to dodge $331,000 in property taxes— then increased yours. 🚽 Pritzker 2026/2028: You can’t make this 💩 up.
